Is it possible to set a "trusted" app when "itch.io sandbox" is enabled?

You can enable itch.io sandbox to restrict the computer permissions of the software downloaded through Itch. This is a very useful feature to have, and I'd like to keep it enabled at all times. However, since I am also a developer and am using developer tools through Itch, it creates some problems when those tools get restricted from necessary files and folders.

For example, I am building games with Godot through Itch. With Sandbox turned on, Godot can't access certain critical files which makes it unusable. I trust that specific software with the necessary permissions. Thus, is there some way to select Godot to circumvent the sandbox, while still leaving it enabled for everything else?

The itch app provides a sandbox mode for apps managed by it? Now that sounds useful.

But obviously, managing development tools with that app would be tricky.

Is the sandbox active, if you start it from outside the itch app?

You know, somehow I thought I already checked that. It appears I hadn't.

Launching Godot directly (instead of through the app library) does seem to bypass the sandbox. I imagine the same would be true for other apps (for better or worse). Genius!

Thanks!
