Download Speed Slow/Getting progressively Slower

Yesterday I could download things normally. Since today whenever I try to download something the download starts at 100kb (normally i have typical MB download rates) and gets steadily slower up til only bytes. Other sites or download links like Mega or Mediafire work normally. Anyway to fix this or just wait it out and see if it fixes itself?

Have you tried on multiple pages and the same thing happens? Keep in mind any project that displays “External” next to the file name is not hosted by us and we have no control over how the file is delivered to you.

I have tried with multiple different games, checked that it wasn't an external one, even used different browser's. Weird thing is after I restart my router it fast for like 2 minutes again before going down to KB's again. I also tried downloading the itch.io app but that also does not work since the download also slows down immensly. Also found one game so far which downloads really fast in comparison to the rest.

Thanks for the detailed summary. We haven’t collected any other reports recently of widespread download issues but we’ll keep an eye on things.

Note for content you have paid for, there is an alternate download mode (only available through web, not the app) that will let you use a download mirror to access the file. That may be worth trying if you’re having trouble accessing that content. Click the “Downloads not starting” link to activate.

Ok, I'll try that, hopefully it's just a temporary issue which resolves itself. Thanks for the help.

I'm getting around 50 KiB/s right now, central Europe, no change in last 3 hours. Tried downloading a zip directly and now trying to download the app. No difference.
