It sucks that the artist for Town of Passion isn't doing the art  for this prequel, especially since the art doesn't look that good.

Well, it is true, but not that much. I mean, since I never finished Town of Passion (which I want to; it is a great RPG), I should not say this but, I think the art also needs to be like the first game. It would be kind of "nostalgic" and faithful to the saga. So yes, I also think Todpole that the game should be as original and indie as the first one, since it is logic. Thanks for reading, if you did xd

I mean, I could say that the art would be better if it was done by Brellom or InCase, but that would be a stupid to expect.

Art can be very expensive, and it is possible that they couldn't get the same artist.

Of course, if the reason for the art shift is because they started using AI, then in that case it really does suck and should be rightfully condemned, but otherwise I don't really have any issue with it. However, from what I can tell, that isn't the case.

I don't care as long they don't use AI.

Facts, mate. Also, the art is actually really good in my eyes

I actually like the art quite a bit. It's different for sure but I wouldn't say it anywhere near bad

Personally, I don't find either art style better or worse than the other. As long as the game's art style is consistent, everything's fine. I think KOP and ZR2 are doing a great job in terms of consistency in art style.

I like the art. Especially those eyes crossed look.

The final Town of Passion artist (ToP had several artists at different points) was ready to move on to other projects & pursuits so having him return for KoP was never an option.

When starting KoP, I wasn't looking to mimic ToP's style but instead, I wanted to find an artist who's natural style I felt resembled ToP but still felt unique.  We're still fine tuning some designs and proportions but I hope the style grows on you someday!
