Anonymous projects in jams

Greetings! The question is the following. Is there no way to jam with anonymous projects?

The fact is that we are going to hold regular jams between a small group of participants, and a cash prize will be played on them. In order to minimize the likelihood of collusion or unfair evaluation based on personal attitude, I would like to make sending projects anonymous. And after the jam, the anonymity of the projects disappears.

I understand that it is possible to assemble projects manually, but the itch platform is very convenient, it would be cool if there was such an opportunity

It seems to me that such an option is not very difficult to implement, but it would be very useful

This is actually something that is very hard to implement. Since all jam submissions are just pages on itch.io, to have a truly anonymous submission that someone can’t just go and look up, you would also need to strip author information from everywhere else on the site. We will never do that, since it may be misleading to those accessing pages not through the jam, in addition to creating basic usability issues with other functionality throughout the site.

The best way for someone to have an anonymous submission is to create a new account for their submission and not include any other information.

Please do keep in mind, although we let creators manage multiple accounts for different projects/groups, using multiple accounts maliciously, eg. to circumvent account restrictions or create fraudulent activity (ratings, views, etc.), will result in suspension of all accounts.

I did not quite understand.

Why can’t we display in jam mode only the data that we allow users to see? Let the server not send unnecessary data about the game. (In theory, you just need to hide the author). And on itch the game page will be hidden from search. When the jim is over, normal mode is turned on.

Although, I agree, this is not an entirely simple task. Probably for a couple of weeks or two as a programmer. And for my sake alone, they definitely won’t make such a feature. 😅
