Best Practice for "Jams within a Jam"?

Hey y'all,

This is our second year running Greenlight Jam and I'm wondering if there's a better way to go about our current structure.

We have 4 "jams" within the larger jam, each representing a sprint & specific deliverable. Each week's challenge has a specific set of submission requirements and criteria, but we don't want folks submitting to the main jam unless they completed the first three.

Last year we made 4 jams - one for each of the first three sprints, then a final jam to represent the whole event and final sprint submission. However, we got flooded with submitters that did not participate properly or skipped portions of the expected format.

Any tips & tricks are welcome!

Unfortunately there no is better way to do this an hosting independent jams. You could keep the links of the subsequent ones unlisted and not shared until the first one is over, then you can share it with the participants then.

Although it may be interesting to add functionality where submission to one jam is a prerequisite to another, I feel it would be a very minimally used feature.

If I could suggest instead as a feature request- Jams having multiple submission stages instead of pre-req jams. For this one I'll require custom field entries on the final submission that include links to the initial jams, but it would be nice to have more than one deadline on a single jam (I could see more use for this, source code, last bug fix deadlines, etc)
