Hello guys! I am quite new on itch.io , i recently updated my game due to some serious bugs that cause the player to not be able to complete certain levels and had also added some extra features.

I wanted to know if the people who downloaded my game will know when i update my game?

Thank You!

Hi, welcome to itch!

If they have followed you, yes - it will pop up on their feed.

You can also send an email to everyone who has access to your game. To do so, go to your dashboard, under the "more" dropdown menu of the chosen game, pick "Send Email". However, be very mindful and careful with this - you know how people are when they receive too many emails of the given source. I recommend only using the feature if you push a big update out.

Thank you for the reply! The update is quite important and only a few  out of so many people who downloaded the game followed me. I will probably send email to notify them. Hopefully i do not need to send email again.

Thank you again! You are very fast in replying!

Oh no! The send email appears only sends to people who have paid for may game which is only two people . The few hundred other people who downloaded may game for free will not receive the email. Am i missing out on something or doing something wrong, is there some way to send to those who download my game for free? Thank you for your help btw!

Ah I wasn't aware of that, sorry! I'll see to speak with someone who might have more info on this, perhaps there's something I'm missing here.

For now, I'd say your best bet is to open a thread in Devlogs - people might stumble upon it and see that the game is getting updated.

Thank you for your patience!

Thank You! I will open a thread in devlogs in the meantime.
