Hi.

Tetris have  now  global  tournaments and seem to be quite popular.

Then why is not 3D Tetris  like BlockOut  or BlockOut2   growing in popularity ?

I am Swedish Master in BlockOut2  on level:  Out of control

and have global ranking number 24  and would like to see 3D Tetris get popular again.

They had tournaments in Germany about 20 years ago for some years

but they never got any new younger players at that time.

Anyone here who play 3D Tetris ?

Regards MagI

Frac is the only 3D Tetris I ever played, and the only one I ever intend to play.

I've played 3D Tetris before (BlockOut is the name I guess), waay years ago. And it was ..... tough. Instead of one dimension rotation there are 3 dimension rotations. It's too much for me to optimize all rotation abilities to optimize the result.

And the blocks being displayed in 3D space is hard to see compared to 2D space. Sure if the blocks are placed properly you can see the blocks but if you messed up, blank spaces will be covered by blocks on top of them.

TLDR, 3D Tetris is complex and much harder to play than 2D Tetris.

Played Blockout (they have it over at the local arcade). It's a different game altogether. Good luck planning a T-Spin triple in 3d.
