I really don't understand collections

I add all games that I download and purchase to my collection, and when I later try to find that game there, it's gone. Now, I try to solve it by adding each game multiple times, and itch.io just keeps creating more and more collection with duplicate games. Still, I can't find my game anymore after a while. Not even in the "Games I own" section.

I really don't get the gist of those collections, why to keep them at all or how to use them properly. And how do I add games in such way that they are still there later on? Why are they removed in the first place?

Searching for titles seems buggy as well. Then I type " hermione" in the search bar, and I get a single hit, which isn't the game that I own. Then I need to search the title via duckDuckGo to find the right game again.

What am I doing wrong, or what do I not understand?

A collection is a group of games & other projects. Putting something in a collection does not involve ownership. If the developer deletes the page then it will no longer be available in the collection. Putting a free game in a collection does not preserve it as free if the developer later adds a price. It is just a way a collecting links to game pages. Hope that makes sense

Thank you for replying back! ^^

The issue that I appear to have - mark the word "appear" - is that, when I today add "SomeGame" to my collection, and tomorrow I search that game there (using the Ctrl-F search feature of my browser), then I get told that the "SomeGame" isn't there, even though the game's store page is still the same.

So, it seems that either I do something wrong, or my collection is, by default, not shown in its entirety.
