COA Bug

I'm having trouble replacing the Coat of Arms for my City, every time I try to copy/paste the COA String from Armoria it does not replace the default Coat of Arms

Developer

I can't reproduce it. Does the copied coa string get saved after being pasted and submitted in MFCG? That is, when you choose "Customize..." in the context menu again after the generator failed to update the emblem, what string is in the text field? The copied or the previous one? (Sorry that it took me so long to reply).

So, I actually have the same problem where nothing happens when I input the COA code into the Customize menu. Doing so again, there is nothing inputted into the COA text field and nothing I previously copied was saved.

Developer

Could you check your browser console when this happens? It sounds like something breaks along the way and in this case there should messages in the console...

Was there ever a fix for this? I'm having the same issue with COAs.

Developer

I've got only two reports (incl. yours) and no detailed information unfortunately, so there was no fix for it.

No worries. I'll try to help you-help me figure this out. I am on the web version. I thought I had the option to download this as an app on my pc but either I was mistaken or I am just not finding it. I customized an emblem but cannot upload it to the city generator. I repeatedly tried using the COA, but I keep getting a notification that "A file of this type cannot be loaded". I'm trying to add the COA as an svg file and I tried drag and drop as there doesn't seem to be any other way to move the COA to the Emblem pop-up box. Is this the correct way of doing this? I also tried adding the COA code with notepad but as a .coa doc format. I am at my pc actively trying to figure it out now, so please let me know of any information you need to better address this.

Also, thanks for this! These are my new favorite tools and I will be supporting them.

No, I think you are doing it wrong.

  1. Open the Armoria website.
  2. Make sure that the Armoria editor is open: there should be one large coat of arms, not a whole page full of small ones.
  3. Edit that coat of arms as needed.
  4. In the top menu choose Save > Copy COA string. The code for you coat of arms will copied into the clipboard.
  5. In the Emblem window of the city generator paste that string into input field (replacing the previous value).
  6. Press OK.

No additional files need to be involved, everything works via the clipboard. Unless you want to save your design for later - in notepad or whatever.

New here. Sorry if this is old/wrong post.

I've followed these instructions in Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Safari.

It works just fine for COA with non-custom charges. When I load a custom charge (raster), I can "Copy COA string" and paste it in the Emblem window. However, when I press OK, nothing happens. Then, when I open "Customize" again, nothing is there.

Where can I look to find an error? Or am I doing this incorrectly? Is this even available for custom charges? I don't know where the disconnect is.

Thanks!

Hello, I have the some problem. Previously, when I logged into "Fantasy City Map Generator", everything was fine. But now, when I go into it, about half of the screen at the bottom and on the right is blocked by some object on top. Who can say what could be the reason?
