Hello fellow game dev/game enthusiasts on itch.io ! I would love to share my progress on my upcoming survival/life simulation game #SpaceChild! This game is for those who love getting transported into an alternative world where you can lead a colorful, challenging yet relaxing second life. In the world of SpaceChild, you play a homeless protagonist where you started out begging on the streets, digging through trashcans, then work your way up until you could afford to live in big, luxurious mansions. You need to keep an eye out on your hunger and hygiene and overall health stats at all time- DO NOT DIE. Talk to random NPCs, become friends or enemies with them, or even lovers! Buy unique, stylized piece of furniture and decorate your own room. If you love games like animal crossing, stardew valley or The Sims, be sure to tune in! This game will take you to a whole new world filled with excitement and endless possibilities.

Loving the aesthetic!

thank you! is this something you'd be interested in playing?

Yes most definitely, the concept reminds me a little bit about an old flash game called Stickman RPG except that this game looks way way better. I've been hoping for a new game like that.

Thank you so much! I have been trying so hard to promote the game. I have tried reddit, youtube, and instagram but still not getting much views. :'( I guess I need to figure out my target demographics first. What website/platform do you think have users that would like this type of game?

Oh man, I totally understand. I had okay success with one game and I think it's because it got the attention of the community of one game due to it originally being a fangame of it which evolved into more. The art style and movement system is very close. r/RotMG is where I posted with most success. I created a Discord server and posted it in bullet hell game subreddits. I got posts removed a couple times but it was worth it. My Twitter hasn't had much traction yet.

I'm not sure what kind of game is already like this, I think you'd have to do some searching to find out and post it as a "fan game" or "inspired game" on there maybe. Also try posting it on GameJolt. Maybe you can find YouTubers to play it, I'm not sure how to do that yet. I think it will be helpful to post more gifs of the game for sure, and create a build to make a higher-res YouTube trailer of it. I would post a WebGL and downloadable demo if possible. That's something I'm working on too.

Glad to help. :)

Glad to help! By the way, I can't find your creator page when I click on your username. When I click on my username, there is a button that says "View creator page". It's a page where you could potentially add your social media links and it displays all your itch.io games. I also started adding social media and Discord links to all my game pages.

GReat visual! It is about a dreamcast games for me like Space Channel 5, Sonic Adventures 1 and 2. I am about bright visual style and arcade and something to do.

Thank you so much! Is this something you'd be interested in playing?
