Hey all,

https://liambeale.itch.io/noir-in-hong-kong

I've just posted a little point and click detective game I had an idea for a while ago.  It is still a work in progress; This is currently the first chapter until I can get my ideas together. I'd like to be able to hire out some artists in the future to replace my placeholder artworks.

Things are very janky at the moment and there are some things I'm trying to iron out. Very happy for feedback and will try to make improvements when I can.

NOir is everywhere, and this time it is in Hong Kong. You add noir to Hong Kong now!

Yeah, I'm not being very original - but the gag of having a detective have to haggle with clients and pay rent makes me laugh. And your mum is a tiger mum constantly telling you to get a real job.

Hey Liam, I just played through the first case twice and I found your project really exciting! There are a few janky things like you mentioned, but the overall presentation is great, and I think you really nailed the noir vibes, even with what you labeled as placeholder visuals. My favorite visual novel of all time is Kara no Shoujo 2, another detective-style game, and Noir in Hong Kong scratched the same itch for me. I hope you continue to develop this project because I already see a lot of potential in it!

If you're interested, I would love to compose a free music track for you to use exclusively in your project however you want, like a song for the interrogation scenes. Feel free to reach out to me if you're into the idea, my email is on my profile page!
