Accepting donations without the pop up

It would be nice if I could accept donations without having that annoying pop up, I tend to always turn it off because I feel it makes me look like I'm begging for donations. I would like to accept donations, but the way it's done is quite annoying. I'd rather have it as a button on the side of my itch.io page.

I'm not sure what you mean. You want to accept donations but have the form appear on the page where they can enter the amount? It's unlikely we'll do this due to the layout of the page. Is there something about the popup that feels wrong to you?

It makes me feel like I'm trying to beg for donations really, and I've had people (mostly people I've sent from social media who don't know itch.io well) think they had to donate to get the game.

I think I've either submitted an issue relating to this or commented on one. Essentially a lot of people see "name your price" and think it is required.

I think rather than having a form in the page, having two buttons "Download" and "Donate" which open the downloads directly and the standard donate form would be a nice option.
