Unable to share HTML5 game in "Restricted" Mode

Hey guys,

I'm unable to figure out how to share my HTML5 game with my friends (not having any account on itch.io).

I have set up the page for the game, uploaded a zip containing the index.html, i am able to view and play the game but when i generate a "Download key" and share the link , upon clicking this link, it says that currently there is nothing available to download.

I am sure i am missing something very basic but i'd be really grateful if someone could just help me out here.

Thanks guys.

If it's an HTML5 game you don't need to give them a download key, you just need to give them the URL. Since you're keeping the game as a draft, go to the game's page. In the middle of the top toolbar you'll see it says "draft", and below it "secret URL". Copy the link from there and give it to them. Hope this helps!

You can use draft but it's not what we recommend. For restricted pages, to share it with people who do not "own" it with a download key, you should add a password to the page. You can find it on the bottom of the edit game page after you enable restricted mode.
