A New Way To Coordinate Turns?

Use Camera Uptilt To Fly Fast

I used this exact playlist along with your simulator to learn to fly FPV, and my first day out flying acro FPV "for real" felt very similar, so much so that I was able to get out and do all sorts of fun tricks on my very first day.

Developer

Awesome, glad to hear that you find it useful!

Im using it also and am very hopeful it will work for me the same way also.

I bought liftoff also but never use it. This one ans recharged are the best ones imo

Hello,

I'm a newbie here on FPV Freerider and I use a USB game controller for now - I know a R/C controller would be better -

Anyway, everything would be ok ( very nice simulator anyway !!! ) even with an USB game controller if we could save the preset for the controller and come back later to modify the settings we have done to get better one. Because for now if we want to change some of the settings we have to recalibrate the whole controller and because there is no number on the sliders on the interface it's not precise enough when redoing the procedure.

I put this on this forum because this kind of update could be good for learners

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, that is a good suggestion. Perhaps I could make it possible to skip directly to the trim-screen (without having to go through the calibration again).

great lessons!!!

Awesome tutorials! I can't find the playlist in Joshua Bardwell's YT channel. So I have created a YT playlist containing all these tutorials:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvfMJLsLe1ozN3tkgWvy2-jiScbaBALmz

Very cool sim! I have been flying the micros line-of-sight but dont really know how to fly. Didnt even know there was such a thing as a drone/quad fpv sim. I heard about sims in a youtube video. To my surprise,  FPVFreerider  even runs on Linux!!! I tried the demo and it just worked. If anyone uses linux then you know theres usually alot of fiddling to get stuff to work. Freerider literally found my USB nintendo switch controller and was ready to go. When my demo time ran out i promptly bought a copy.   I'm running Ubuntu19.10 if any linux users are wondering if this may work for them.

Are there any more maps that can be added/modded in? Any chance of a "multiplayer" mode? like a LAN game fly together.

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you like it and that it works well on your setup!

There is also FPV Freerider Recharged that has some more maps, and also the full level editor included:

https://fpv-freerider.itch.io/fpv-freerider-recharged

Multiplayer is not planned at the moment.

Thanks for this set of tutorials, they are particularly well done and allow you to learn quickly how to fly a drone. Learning how to fly an fpv drone is really easier and simpler using the Freerider flight simulator and your tutorials.

Once again thank you, I will soon buy the complete software to be able to continue to train and progress without breaking any hardware and when the weather is bad.
 Bravo !

Developer

I'm glad to hear that you appreciate the link to the tutorials, Joshua Bardwell deserves the credits since he is the one who made that excellent tutorial series. Also glad to hear that you appreciate my simulator and that you find it useful!

I'm loving FPV Freerider (I've been a LOS R/C pilot for several decades.... taking my eyes off the aircraft in the sky is a HIGHLY UN-NATURAL thing for me to do!) and I'm loving Josh Bardwell's video series on learning to fly FPV.  But where can I get the same "Desert" scenery that he is using... with the open spaces, and large wooden gates to fly through?  The "Desert" that came with my upgraded FPV FreeRider has a bunch of gnarly spires and towers, and looks nothing like the one that Josh is using in his videos ?

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad to hear you like it!

(Yes it can feel highly unnatural to take your eyes off the aircraft in the sky. When flying in real life, I think it is a lot easier if you're using goggles rather than looking at a screen. Then you don't have choice but to commit to the FPV view, less risk of getting confused/distracted).

There are two versions of the simulator - FPV Freerider (Classic) and FPV Freerider Recharged.

FPV Freerider classic has the desert scene that Bardwell is using in his tutorial series.

(There is a free demo version available that has the desert scene in it).

Classic:

Recharged:

Both version are also available for Android on the Google Play store.

Thanks for the quick reply.... I'll buy the FreeRider Classic version as well. Hey... it's a pittance compared to the $1300 that DJI wants for their simulator!  :-)

Developer

:-) Thank you for supporting FPV Freerider, and happy flying!
