Help! I cannot buy anything!

A topic by apromixately created Jan 26, 2018 Views: 744 Replies: 4

I have both Paypal and a credit card.

The credit card is refused due to something about VAT that I don't understand but essentially I seem to be refused because I am currently not in the country where I got my card. (My address there is still valid and everything I am just traveling right now.)

And using Paypal simply fails with a "we cannot at this moment..." message.

Any advice? :/

Hello,

Sorry you're having an issue. The VAT information we collect happens before you can get to the PayPal checkout screen, so I'm assuming you were able to complete that part? Was your credit card denied on the screen where you enter you credit card? Is it possible you're being denied by both providers because there's an issue with your payment information?

If you need to reveal any private information about your transaction please email us so we can continue to help you.

Thanks

I click on buy, select card, put in the address on the card and I get the VAT message.

Sorry, we can't accept your purchase at this time due to the updated 2015 VAT regulations. Your billing address does not match your purchase location (BE).

Paypal instead: Let's try a BE address!

So far so good...

The following VAT has been applied to your purchase based on your location, Belgium.
Product price: $9.99
Tax: $2.10 (21%)
Total: $12.09

I click continue and am redirected to paypal. I log in but then suddenly get

We can't process your payment right now, so please try again later. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

I have the same issue, From Belgium too. It seems paypal  blocks  Belgian users to pay on itch.

I eventually managed to pay. Apparently putting in my Belgian address and then using a card from a different country worked.
