What system are you on? On wndows, the saves are in the www/save folder. You can copy&paste the entire folder content from the save folder of the old game version to the same folder in the new game version.
On android, you can usually use the .apk to update the existing game files. The saves remain untouched that way. You don't need to de-install the game very update.
