WTF are these Websites???

First of all, the disclaimer: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT LOOK UP THESE WEBSITES YOURSELF.

With that out of the way, I sometimes google our itchio games to see where they appear. There are always some really weird sites with highly suspicious URLs or completely irrelevant names (Best Telecom Romania, anyone?) and the descriptions are usually plucked straight from itchio or elsewhere.

Since I don't dare click on these, myself. I thought I'd ask if anyone knows why these websites exist- are they the result of bots trawling the internet for content and looking to give a virus to anyone who clicks on them, or what? And for all the devs: what weird and wonderful sites does your game appear on- do you get the same thing, too?

Below is a selection of sites that appear when you google our last game, The Bunny Hill Horror: Bunny Boiler.

How did you do this? I try google but only gives me news and common safe websites even at 20 pages in search. DDG only gives me profiles of creators and every other just does the same like DDG.

Haha, I don't know- is this not normal? XD

Maybe it's because I google in quotation marks. You might get different results if you search [The Unknowns Saga] and ["The Unknowns Saga"] because the second one searches the exact title only- whereas with the first one, google might switch to results similar to your game title to keep to safe websites.

it seems like its targeted at your game, my game is the same APK stealing and random website with same wording and semi-popular games like   gladiabots arent getting the same result.

Yeah, I think your game names are very hard to google, though. You're going to get many thousands of unwanted search hits for 'the woodsman' or 'chemiCal' before an indie game comes up- especially as google doesn't recognise caps (I think).

This is actually always something worth considering when coming up with game titles.

I always find it amazing how many weird things there are to consider when making a game!
