I proudly purchased this application (RIFE-APP) and am curious about the results I'm getting from VirusTotal.  Why is it telling me this is being flagged as malware?

As a game dev myself, it has happened many times that my applications have been flagged on VirusTotal, but I knew they were safe. I’ve spoken with other devs in the past, and I was told that this happens to many, and the idea is that VirusTotal is pessimistic, as in, it’s better to be strict and potentially flag a good program, than miss a potentially dangerous one.

Hope that makes sense. I haven’t tried the project you mentioned, so it’s hard to say for certain. As mentioned above, you can always report a project with all the details.

If it helps, the Itch app also has sandbox mode, that isolates programs it runs, which is one more layer of protection.
