I am writing a post about this wonderful platform on my blog and I have a cuestion, for the creators.

In order to create a "player" account, it is necessary to be over 13 years old, but much of the content that there is would be considered for people over 18 years old.

Do developers have the obligation to indicate for what age the content they upload to the platform is suitable?

On the part of itch.io is there any control over this issue?

Developers must mark their content as 18+, if it is (whatever that means under most jurisdictions).

Some go out of their way to include specific content warnings in their game descriptions, for parents or people with disabilities like epilepsy or heart problems.

Yes, individual platforms do not have the manpower to play through all video games to decide what content rating to give for a game. So in most cases, it’s the responsibility of the developer to be accurate about the content of their game.

On the part of itch.io is there any control over this issue?

While editing your game, you can mark it as 18+, and Itch.io takes care of letting the user know this is an adult game.
