I wish more developers would have a one time payment to buy a game and not a monthly patreon support. I can understand if new content is being added constantly like an MMO but if the game is already finished then why?

Ever heard of updates? Also, that's what "buying" a digital game is: supporting the developer. You're not buying the bits, those are infinite. It's really a gift exchange.

I am saying, is if the game is finished and there is nothing else being added or changed then there is no need for a monthly service. Like an MMORPG. Buying the game is like buying a product. A monthly fee is more like renting it. In the end you pay way more then what the game is worth if you could have just bought it.

if game is finish why would the game stop working after you download it, unless they have some kind of service or licensing check, the game should work without monthly payments.

Patreon games are a type of scam model. These games are created with the intention of never being finished, so that the developer can keep collecting patreon bucks forever and ever and ever.
