You guys still have the option to select Flash (swf) as game type but it won't work since Flash has been disabled in browsers. I suggest you implement the Ruffle player which emulates Flash. So far only AS2 projects work but there is a lot of new games created this year for it and there will be more coming (I'm making one and more Ruffle game jams coming up)

This is the website, https://ruffle.rs

It's pretty easy to implement.

I second that! Ruffle is slow as molasses on older machines, but loads quickly and works to a surprising degree. It's a lot better than nothing.

Any progress on that end? It's been 2 years.

I was able to use Ruffle and an old Flash game of mine (from 2010) on itch.io just now by packaging it as a .zip

The zip file contains:

  • index.html
    • This uses a simple <embed src="the-file.swf"> tag for the Flash .swf file itself
    • It uses a script tag from https://ruffle.rs
  • the swf

It used ActionScript 3 so Ruffle is giving an extra warning… but it works!
