Steam Key Not Working -- "Please First Activate the Original Game"

Hi everyone,

I just recently bought the game "Lisa: The Painful" for mac, and received a steam key with my purchase. When I play the game via the copy I directly installed, it boots up and works fine, but I can't save my game (potentially related to my main problem?). Anyways, when I try to activate the product on steam it claims that I need to "first activate the original game" as if I've been given the key to a dlc or something. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

If this is too specific a problem for this thread, I apologize, but I can't find a way to directly contact the developer of the game.

Thank you!

it seems like another case of game developer only supporting steam and doesnt know how to remove steam API or related code. This is something the game developer should fix. Since the game was made in RPG Maker the same error has been around: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/unable-to-save-the-game-on-mac....

not much we can do

Oh man...

Well, thanks for the response :)
