I am very new to itch.io and I was wondering when it makes sense to start a devlog here in the community forum and when instead it's better to have developer logs in your game page.

Shall I start with a community devlog until I have a build to share on my game page and then switch to developer logs or shall I continue doing both?

Any opinion based on direct experience on the topic is strongly appreciated.

That's how I did it: using the devlog category until I had a game page to make public, then gradually moving over to posting proper devlogs on it. But you can use both in parallel, or just one option. Devlogs are popular either way.
