There are lots and lots of indie games for vintage computers and consoles being released now and itch.io is becoming one of the primary ways to release them but at present there isn’t a way to mark titles as being for a specific vintage platform. If the author doesn’t mention the platform in the title of the game (they shouldn’t have to) it’s impossible find them.

I don’t game on any mainstream platforms but I do game on lots of vintage ones. I’d really like to be able to surface those games easily.

This is a cursed idea. Trust me. Every time it came up, there was a huge flamewar. The last time it happened simply because I tried to explain how the discussion went the previous few times. So please don't ask me why. It's best to walk away quietly from this one. Sorry about that.

They aren’t perfect but should help you narrow down what you’re looking for, or help your game get discovered if you’re creating for a retro console
