I want to submit an incomplete game to a game jam. But I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

Seems like no one else is doing it, there must be a reason? I’d expect devs would do that, so folks can track the progress of the games in the jam while they’re in development, but instead people are just posting in the community forums and on Discord and whatnot… makes it a bit harder to follow the games throughout the jam!

Also, my game jams list is empty even though I joined the 7DRL Challenge 2021. Makes it kind of hard to get back to the jam page! I guess it will appear when I submit my game?

I think that’s fine. If you end up not finishing the game by the end of the jam, you can always remove it from the jam at any time, even after the jam has ended. If you submit a page early, then it’s one less thing to worry about as the deadline approaches.

Note that some jams “lock files” on project pages during voting periods, so even though you have submitted the page, if you did not upload any files then your page will be stuck empty.
