Want to grow itch.io community.

I am a new user of itch.io but still, I feel much comfort at itch.io. Yeah, it's better than any other gaming site in quality. But the community of itch.io is too small. It has only a few users. I want to grow the itch.io community and make more real active users. Can I be an admin or moderator? Yeah, I don't have much time because I am a student. But I can help to grow this platform as much as possible.

Our moderation team was just expanded recently. I can ask an admin if you like (you can't be an admin, those are just Itch.io founders). But is it really such a good idea to force growth? Quality beats quantity when it comes to community interaction. It seems to me that people talk plenty on the main community forum, and that's not even counting the communities of various jams or games. Be active yourself, post good conversation starters and people will respond in kind.

Could we open a Facebook group? Because the rule of Facebook is "Only 10-30% of page follower will see a page post (not sure)". So that we have 13k+ followers but each post gets 10-20 reactions only. But a group post appears in all group members' newsfeed. And in a group developers can promote their own games. And there are millions of gamers on Facebook who don't know about itch.io.

So, can we open a Facebook group?

You don't need permission to start an unofficial group. For an official one, I can show this to an admin.

Sounds like a cool suggestion, I know a group on discord that features a game-room there (being about cute animations, but also mainly including bird-stuff), so next to personally playing specific games, like when using a different browser or type of phone, only being available as download, etc. I recommend some itch.io-games because its cover looks awesome and originally Ive even heard of this community rather by getting it suggested too. Also social-media with a bird-emoji could possibly get some references to especially textbased-storylines, which sound bit rare on the web. I especially adore the selectable features when uploading a game to itch, never seen it on other forums yet. Just had like 4 analysed still, this one sounds my favorite (same for the post's colours optional dark-mode & variety of games).

We all know that Facebook is the largest social media. And it has about 5 Billion users and millions of gamers and game developers. But there is no itch.io Facebook group. To grow the itch.io community I've opened a new unofficial Facebook group. Join now and invite your friends.

And if you want to help grow our community, then you can be an admin or moderator.
