how to embed a renpy game to my page

hi I'm new to itch and I saw that it's a recommended platform to try an upload my renpy-made visual novel for people to play in a web based environment. i just can't seem to find a comprehensive full guide on how to do just that, i keep finding half parts here and there (downloaded the itch butler, wasn't sure which build I need to upload , tried uploading the windows or the web-beta build i made in renpy but it was only there as a zip file for users to download. I'd like it to just play in their browser)

any help on how to go about it would be greatly appreciated- thanks!

Just build the game as HTML5 and publish accordingly? I have an old Ren'Py that lacks the option, but it has one to publish on Itch.io for you, maybe try that? Better yet, see Uploading HTML5 games in the FAQ.

Hi it worked, I didn't zipped the folder correctly and mainly just overcomplicated a simple process. for the random who will get across this:

from renpy -> build web application -> zip the folder it creates for you -> upload it as part of the new game process(next to your name -> create -> upload new project) -> save -> go back to edit the project and change 'kind of project' to html
