1,5GB game

Hello there! I'm not sure where else to post to get help on this. I'm a developer who would like to release my next game here on itch.io, but the full game is about 1,5GB in size. Currently I'm limited to 1GB. So unless I can get more space, I won't be able to publish here. Any suggestions?

This contains every possible option to upload bigger projects. For clarity I’ll add more details:

Split the download into 2 archives

The restrictions on project size are mostly to make sure Itch is not spending too many resources on a project that is not really giving a lot back. I’m not sure if this would be allowed, not to mention that some users wouldn’t even try. This also will make a project unplayable through the Itch app. Restrictions are there for a reason.

Use butler

Using butler one can upload a bigger project (I believe up to 2GB?). I totally recommend this path as it sounds like it would solve OP’s problems.

Ask support for more space

This is the alternative to using butler. Support can allow bigger projects. Keep in mind support might not agree to that though, depending on multiple factors.

reduce the size of your game

That would be the “everybody wins” solution, but different projects have different needs. Hard to tell if OP’s project can be optimized, or if OP has enough time for that.

I used the butler and it worked. Thank you so much for your suggestions guys!
