it seems nice, i like it, but i also feel dumb cause i'm not very trained in puzzles :B it's not i problem of the game, it's me

hey, thank you again! i added somethings to make dead ends less anoying:
- the bit now overheat slower and cool faster
- you get 5 points per tile painted red when returning from a dead end
i know this don't fix the exact problem you are mentioning, but i hope it helps to make them less "oh no, what a waste of timeee"...
i'm also trying to work on a system so the player can 'change direction', but not sure when i will be able to finish it yet
thank you again :) if your bit goes to that right path and meet the red (!) tiles, do the bit come back painting to red the rest of the path?
I mean, sometimes we are getting back from a long path of dead ends and the lava kills us in the middle so the bit couldn't mark as red all the way back, but in the next time he goes there he should be marking as red the rest of the path...
thank you... the auto cooling and recharging is meant to help... with too much heat the bit get confuse, and with too low stamina/energy he cannot walk... :B
did the bit marking as red the dead ends have given some sense of progression? like "ok, I havent found the end but at least I wont step again on the tiles marked red"?
after the todays update it might gets easier and less anoying... the map % of increase after victory is smaller so its easier to win 5 levels and unlock the "restart the same map remembering the dead ends".... before it, everytime you die a new map is generated so it was never really taking a "same path" cause the map was different... this game includes a portion of luck... there are times i've passed some of the first levels in just 1 attempt... thanks for playing and commenting
Hi! Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
At start, everytime the bit dies it reboots on a new labyrinth... When 5 stages are complete the bit receive the hability to restart on the same stage with the memory of dead ends already found and avoiding them...
have you bought upgrades in the right sidebard second tab? It would make it easier to achieve 5 victories...
amazing! Берег by Забавные Игры is one of my favorite songs in life! so glad to have found this sonic diamong listening to Sovietwave Mixes on Youtube! Thank you so much, hope you like further updates of Start From 0 and future games I upload. ^.^ I'll check out your published games too :) luminous hugs
hahahaha loved your last line ^.^ you are right! this can be really improved by adding different shapes for the pieces like a real puzzle, and chosing images that are nice to be 'sliced' and give pieces with good visual 'clues' ^.^ i'm working on improvements of the game to post after the jam, including the option to hide/show de counter of pieces in the right place ^.^ luminous hugs, thanks for playing ^.^
Hi! Thank you! Loved your idea for the system error puzzle event!! I'm really willing to update it after the jam voting period, adding more upgrades, an intermediate drawing before the second and the third (that will give a more gradual canvas size progression... ^ .^ and inspirations and ideas for expansions are appearing on my mindscape ^.^ the warm reception and comments like yours are making me happy and energized for this :)
thank you again for your compliment, it was my first jam but i made a visual novel last year using the same webstack (vite, vue, pinia, xstate, and others) O used on Start From 0, and a small small prototype of a topdown in 2023 (this one with rpg maker).... last year I started to make some prototypes of incremental but none got half as far as the one released now... ^ .^
the coding part is the hardest for me, even with LLMs to help, and the creativity/lore/gamedesign are where I flow, surf and fly with ease ^ .^ if you or other dev wish to team up and think about some project together, I'll put my discord on my profile page ^ .^
luminous hugs from Brasil!
