Hi! In general, I'm open to participating in jams as well, though I'd prefer to work on less strict timelines because I can rarely commit a full week or weekend to development. Longer running jams would be a possibility though. ^-^

Heya, name's Zephyrix, a hobbyist Godot developer! ^-^ Recently, I finished my two-year journey of releasing my first game, Ronny's Climb (Steam, Demo on Itch). Now, I'm looking for new projects to contribute to in my free time. As I don't want to work alone any longer, I'd like to join a preexisting team or maybe an individual artist that's working on a reasonably small project.

My goals are to craft fun games, build my portfolio and connect with other creatives for potential future collaboration! I'm not looking for paid gigs, revenue share or large-scope projects; rather, I'd like to work with friendly people on short projects with a narrow scope to be released for free. The idea is to create a small game that ideally can be finished within no more than ~two months.

So if you have a project going but lack the coding skills to move it forward, or if you're a small group of people just starting to build something together, please get in touch! I'm open to many genres and projects under the following constraints:

  • Small games only please, I'd like to finish something achievable within reasonable time!
  • Only Godot 4, and only 2D for now (I'm not yet experienced enough with 3D development, sorry!)
  • I have  a full-time day job so I'll mostly be available evenings (European time) and weekends
  • I would rather not take a leading role but focus on supporting with coding and in-engine development
  • It would be nice if the project wasn't a completely blank slate but there was some part already existing (and if it's only a few sprites or mockup screenshots)

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the demo!

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Thanks for playing, and thank you for the kind words

Can you clarify on the kind of lags you are experiencing? I have not had performance issues reported so far.

Sometimes, the game may appear a bit stuttery while the camera moves. That's a result of the game updating on a fixed rate of 60 fps and the low base resolution of 240x160 in combination with different monitor refresh rates. Playing with V-Sync and window mode can help in these cases.

I just put up a web version as well so you can try the demo right from the browser!

Heya, Zephyrix here!

This is Ronny's Climb, a charming retro platformer featuring a cast of adorable forest animals. It is my first published project and I have worked on it for more than a year. I have just released the demo on itch.io and on Steam - the full game will be coming out January 2025!

Any kind of feedback is appreciated <3 I would be delighted if people gave the game a chance. If you want to support the development, you can wishlist it on Steam, or you can subscribe for news about it on https://www.ronnys-climb.com. If you find any bugs or other issues, please kindly report them to me so that I can fix them asap. In case you have any questions about the game and its development, ask them here and I'll try to answer!

A cute little game where you buy and upgrade monsters that auto-battle against the enemy.

The art is the highlight of the game and well made. The interface is easy to read and understand and the monsters are simple but cute.

I like the concept of the game. Upgrading stuff and becoming stronger is fun. Currently, all upgrades are reset in each level. I wish you could take them over to the next stage, gradually unlocking stuff and growing stronger. I also wish the game was a bit longer.

Very nice game :)
