I've played again after a while and it seems like my old files are kinda messed up, the progression and all, and that's fine, since I don't mind reading things again, the start got reworked too and all so that's nice.
I'm making this post because there is this path I took a while ago where both Rajeeyah and Samuel go to the baths with you, but... now when I do the Samuel route, it triggers the new events where you go to another place with Samuel instead, so... is there a condition I'm missing for this to happen?
If you want me to be honest? I don't like the old sprites as much as the new ones, I think it may be nostalgia factor for a lot of people, and the new sprites for Lake and Bjorn are just so beautiful dude. That's my sincere opinion, I'm sorry, It's not like the old ones are ugly or something, they just look off when you compare it to the rest of the VN and the CG's, like they are different characters.
I don't know if this is any indication but... at the banner of this itchio page you can see like what it feels like the "protagonists" of the story: Alon, Thistle, Rune, Max, Burry, Cooper. SPOILERS!
You can see it again at the fighting scenes of Max's route, where they each have a "moment" to fight and a place in the spotlight (Alon has it at the start, before Max starts heading back to shelter).
I'm not so sure about Teak, I think he's destined to be corrupted and forgotten for now
Now that I see the old sprites again... I prefer the new ones, specially Lake's, but I get why some people would not wanna move on from the old sprites after all this years haha
Consider that radiation from the body is a form of light, it doesn't have to be visible light, it's just energy manipulation! So I don't think the sun has effect on his magic.
If it exists, then it has energy on it and it can be extracted with this magic, light probably is just the easier thing to "extract" from and the easiest thing to produce since it's shapeless

I feel like I arrived late at a party, I discovered this novel yesterday and read the whole thing, you seem so done with the proyect tho, and I get that. I love the story and more the artstyle, are you planning on future updates or it's 100% finished?
This is just what I think happens so take it with a grain of salt!
I think mana is just memories taking physical forms, they stay in the air when they form, so when you use magic, the cost it has is that you're burning those memories, even the ones that aren't yours, (mostly the ones that are floating in the air and present around you), the stronger the memories are, the stronger they burn. So going ablaze is just burning throught the memories that surround you so quickly that you also start burning the ones inside you too, I believe that inside your body and inside the creatures in general, mana is present in the blood (and saliva, mostly fluids I assume). In times of need a creature concentrates it on a liquid like blood, and if there happens to be a lot of mana on it (like going ablaze), the moment that liquid touches the air the reaction happens so quickly it cristalizes instead of burning.
We see this as Alon bites the hand of that guy, or when Luke is stabbed on the past sequence, etc.
