you have to admit they look better.
Rune just has a cute aura to him. you look at him, and you can tell he's sweet. The best way I can describe it, If you made a bunch of other jock furry characters, and then put Rune next to them, he wouldn't fit in. He'd stand out. That's his whole thing.
Rune is his own person. He's uniquely kind and approachable, to the point where the way the MC describes him in the narration just does not match up with what you see. I feel like if i knew this person as a jock at school, I really wouldn't see him as larger than life and intimidating. Just look at him in this picture, does he look like he'd shove Mikko in a locker?
Rune looks like he goes to church with his grandma, and that's why people like him. He's too nice to be anxious around.
If you want me to be honest? I don't like the old sprites as much as the new ones, I think it may be nostalgia factor for a lot of people, and the new sprites for Lake and Bjorn are just so beautiful dude.
That's my sincere opinion, I'm sorry, It's not like the old ones are ugly or something, they just look off when you compare it to the rest of the VN and the CG's, like they are different characters.
