Thank you for playing! Glad to hear you enjoyed the demo!

Really sorry for the bug. Thank you for letting us know! We'll fix it in the next version.

Thank you so much!

The plan is to release the full version in 2026. As we are working on the game as a hobby, we are moving at a slower pace, so you will unfortunately need to wait a bit longer :)

Thank you for playing!

We’re sorry to hear you weren’t able to complete the demo, you were almost at the end of it (it ends after unlocking the PC).

After watching your playthrough, we realized this was caused by a UX issue on our side. At 28:16, when you use the spanner, the middle point of the spanner doesn’t go over the bolt or the sign. As a result, the action never triggered, and the item was just returns to the inventory.

We’ll fix this by increasing the hotspot size. Apologies again for the frustration, and thank you for helping us catch this!

Thank you for playing!

I quickly watched your VOD. Some hints:

- You can place the articles on the board to read them

- You can use the knife on the vent to open it

- Check the box on the right of the computer, there is one more item you can pick up

We are not sure what is going on with the at around 10:00, the total darkness should not be there. This is the first the we've seen something like this and are looking into it. We apologize for bad experience.

Thank you for playing and writing your review!

Sorry to hear you got stuck on the fuse box. I think we simplified the UI too much with removing the scene arrows and will be reintroducing them. We like the minimal look, but not when it clearly has a negative impact and getting people stuck. Some players do prefer to explore themselves so we might add an option to show/hide the UI.

We agree with all the issues you pointed out and will be addressing them in the upcoming update.

Thank you for playing!

Thank you for playing and for taking the time to write a review!

Regarding your feedback:

  • We will look into how we can improve the movement. We definitely need to message to the players that they can also use the arrow keys to move between the scenes.
  • We fully agree that we should add more SFX (adding walking sounds between scenes is already on our TODO list) and improve the sound effects in general.
  • In the upcoming update, we will make it so that if you keep the mouse cursor over an object you are inspecting, the dialogue won't be automatically dismissed. If this won't be enough, we will add an option to adjust how long the dialogue stays on screen.
  • This one is a bit difficult for us to improve due to the way our inventory system is designed, but we’ll keep your feedback in mind as we continue developing the game.
  • Nice catch! The typo will be fixed as part of the upcoming update.
  • As for not realizing you could look around the storage unit, we’re working on improving this so others don’t struggle with it as well :)

Thank you for posting the VOD. It was really fun watching you play the game!

Thank you for playing and for wishlisting! It was a fun playthrough to watch!

We did indeed fix some low-hanging fruit in the recent update based on feedback from Saknika and others. We are still working on other improvements (e.g. a tutorial). It was great to see a playthrough so soon after we published the update as we get to see if all the changes are working as intended.

Thank you for playing and for the review! Yes, please share the VOD so I can watch the playthrough and better understand how it went.

From your description, it seems like you brute-forced the symbols, PIN, and finding that you need to use the spanner on the room sign.

Spoiler: After placing the "blacklight" bulb, you also need to close the door. Once you do that, all the symbols will fully appear (like the the mentioned screenshot), the numbers in the articles that you placed on the board will glow, and a hidden message in the original letter will point you to the outside room sign.

We are working on improving this:

  • Obfuscating more of the symbols so they can’t be brute-forced (pushing the player to close the door)

  • Adding a hint to point the player toward closing the door

  • Adding a hint to help the player connect the PIN code dates in the book with the article cutouts on the board

And yes, we will also partly unlock the first message when the player uses the floppy disk  :) Players seem really want to know what it says :D We did not show it at the moment because it directly points to the events after the demo.

P.S. Thank you for organizing the event! We received some amazing constructive feedback that will really help us improve our game.

Thank you for playing and writing your feedback!

We fully agree that adding a tutorial is necessary to help players who are new to the genre and we are already working on it. It will be part of the next update.

Regarding the game opening twice, we haven't seen this issue before. It might be an issue with the game engine we use (Godot). We are still using the 4.3 version and will update to 4.5 once it's released. Hopefully that will resolve it.

Good points! We'll indeed make the symbols less visible and rethink the pin code to make both less guessable.

Thank you for playing! Unfortunately, I was just a little too late to catch your playthrough live. It was a fun watch!

We also appreciate you taking the time to write your feedback in such detail.

We are working on a tutorial and hints system that will hopefully improve the experience for players who are newer to the genre. We agree with all your points. The lack of a tutorial is also the main reason why the demo has not yet been released on Steam, as we had concerns similar to the ones you raised.

The "mining" typo will be fixed, nice catch!

The level of detail with which you examined the butter knife card made me realize that we should be mindful of everything we place inside our game. I really appreciate you diving so deeply into this. We'll address all the issues.

There is indeed more to the demo. You tried using both the magnet and the string separately on the key inside the drain, but you never tried combining the items and then using the "magnet on a string" item to pick up the key. A hint system to guide you towards it would surely help.

We're glad to hear you still enjoyed it overall, and thank you for wishlisting it.

Thanks so much for playing! Happy to hear you enjoyed it and we appreciate the wishlist!

We actually just released the 0.2.0 update, which includes exactly the improvement you mentioned :) A shame you just missed it.

Thank you for contacting us! Our Steam store page does not have a demo yet. We wanted to get feedback from the Itch community and also add some extra content before uploading a demo to Steam.

But both versions will be exactly the same, only the Steam version will have Steam-specific integrations added (eg. achievements, cloud saving).

Same goes for the two versions available on Itch (web and downloadable). The downloadable version runs a bit better and has minor accessibility improvements.

Thank you for playing and awesome to hear you enjoyed it!

We plan to release the full version on Itch as well, so you could play it in the browser. We do have aspirations to also release on mobile, but it would be released a bit after the desktop versions as we would need to do some additional work to improve the experience there.

Thank you for playing! I especially loved hearing your theory about what is going on :)

No worries :) Thanks again for making the video!

Thank you for playing and I really appreciate you making the video. I loved watching it :)

An important correction: I (Ziga) am not the creator of Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, but that is a game from BRANE (https://branegames.itch.io/).

I messaged you as I saw you enjoyed their game and thought you might also enjoy ours as it's in the same genre (Ashwood Conspiracy is our first game).

I really apologize for the confusion. In no way did I mean to represent myself as the author of BRANE's game.

I watched your playthrough and there are a few things we should improve to make the experience better. Really helpful, thank you again for making the video!

Thank you!

Thank you for playing and for creating a video for your channel! It is a puzzle game after all, so getting stuck for a bit is expected which makes finding the solution more satisfying ;)

Thank you for playing and happy to hear you enjoyed it!

I also really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I completely agree with you that the intro can be improved. Your thoughts will be very helpful in making it better :)

Thank you for playing and for keeping it spoiler-free :)

Thank you playing our game! Happy to hear you liked it :)

You are a legend, thank you!

This is some invaluable user feedback and I truly appreciate you taking the time to write it in such detail.

I added it to my list of things to update in the upcoming patch versions.

Thank you for playing & wishlisting and I appreciate you taking the time to write your feedback!

I'm trying to better understand about the issue you experienced to hopefully improve it.

When viewing items, the dialogues are indeed shown in a loop so people can view it multiple times if they need to. We show an indicator so the player knows which dialogue in the sequence they are viewing.

Normal dialogues go away after some time, but some dialogues are persistent (eg. the dialogues at the start of the game, the dialogue when you first visit the storage unit). Persistent dialogues you have to click to dismiss/advance them. Clicking on normal dialogues does not close them.

Persistent dialogues cannot be repeated and require the player to dismiss them so we are sure they don't miss the important information.

Maybe the subtle distinction between the two types was what caused the issue?

Would you like to click on normal dialogues as well to dismiss them?

Or maybe there was an actual bug an normal bugs did not go away after some time?

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding and thank you again for your time!

Thank you!

Thank you again for your feedback!

I'll keep it in mind as others play and make a change if they find it too challenging.

I'm excited to announce that we released a demo version of our point-and-click adventure game, Ashwood Conspiracy on itch.io. You can play it both inside your browser and as a downloadable Windows build.

Check it out now: https://yawning-dog-studios.itch.io/ashwood-conspiracy

Quick summary

Ashwood Conspiracy is a story-rich point-and-click adventure game. Follow in your late uncle's footsteps to uncover the mystery behind the most devastating event in Ashwood's history. Find, collect, and combine items to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles.

Will you dare to finish what he started?

Thank you playing! Awesome that you did not give up and found the solution :)

Would it have been helpful if after 3 failed PIN inputs you would have gotten a hint that would point you to take a closer look at the articles board?

Sorry to hear that. Which browser and version are you using?

Note that our game requires support for SharedArrayBuffer which should be available on all the latest browser versions.

We tested the game primarily on Chrome, but I just confirmed it works in the latest Edge and Firefox as well.

Thank you very much for playing and writing the feedback. Glad to hear you liked it!

You are the first person to play it fully on their own as other playtests were done (in person) with me present. So I'm really glad to hear you finished it without me giving a hint :)
