I'd like to try making a play-in-browser game, where a 2nd player (and maybe more later as I figure things out), can just join a game in progress, drop out at any time with no penalty, and they can just play together without having to download/install, or buy something, etc.
Are there any guides out there on doing this, any existing play-in-browser games here like this, or am I stepping out into unexplored territory here?
That's true, I'm very reluctant to repeat scenes in most games unless the game makes it very obvious that results will be different, because it feels like I'm doing the same wrong thing multiple times. A friend of mine who made RPG Maker games once had to tell me I had to talk to each NPC 10 times (!) to advance the plot, and she was so proud of how she wrote 10 lines of dialogue for each NPC in her game.
Maybe have the game tell the player that doing Morticia 3 times will unlock the next event.
Game runs nicely in the browser window, although showers look like an opaque black cone under the showerhead
the way "Vibrating" flashes makes me think it's just vibrating constantly, and the sign is flashing to say so. Instead, have it say "Vibrating" and "Not Vibrating".
"To the goon dungeon" makes me think I had to try and open the door nearby. Tell the player to go to their computer instead.
It seems really difficult to get the upper hand on the first couple enemies. They always notice you as you approach and when they notice you they're invincible for what feels like forever, and you have to back off and wait, but not back off so far that they lose track of you, because then they'll notice you and become invincible again when you approach.
Configurable controls are a must, too. Spacebar to jump and Z to punch feels really messed up. Make it Z to jump and X to punch at least.
Charming short-ish game, with a nice little story. Not a fan of having to click through a whole lot of text right at the start, though, and the last 2 stages feel too long. I'm not good at memorizing so I had to open a notepad to write stuff down for the last day's orders. I was wondering when those last two stages would end. There probably ought to be a progress bar or something on each day to let you know how many more orders they can expect before the story advances.
Skrill, PayKings, Pix are three options I've heard of so far.
I can only personally vouch for Skrill, and I don't know what their adult content policies are, but for payments between Canada and the U.S., I've had to wait a week for paypal to send money to my bank, whereas Skrill went through instantly!
Game could use a x100 speed mode. The beginning is a lot of waiting for resources to fill up.
Whenever someone is defeated, I often have to remove them from the party and then add them again, otherwise the next battle will only show 3 characters. This could be fixed if the game would properly rebuild the party whenever battles end.
Craft Mana Ration seems to be bugged. I'll see the sign "Craft Mana Ration" pop up but it never appears in the inventory.
Also how does compliance work? I recruited a wolfkin with 0 compliance but great stats and a green name, so does that mean I have to put ALL the compliance gear on her and keep it on her permanently for her not to be totally useless? Or does compliance go up over time?
Multiple Sky-Turtles, great! No way to choose, not so great. I don't know if there are Sky-Turtles I haven't seen.
I like that none of the women looks particularly monstrous, I'm probably in the minority of fantasy players that doesn't really like my fantasy creatures to look like sex-toys, or very animalistic or like amorphous blobs.
I'm not a fan of seeing bosses come back as regular enemies.
I do like the gallery. Seems like some of the animations are missing though ie: Sky Turtles).
Was there supposed to be someone for the 3rd probe (Gun Pods)?
Can you upgrade the 3 probes?
End-game feels gambley. When everything is maxed out it feels like a coin flip whether you win or lose.
Keyboard controls work great on Linux64, even with left-hand mouse and right-hand keyboard.
Keyboard inputs seem to be ignored in HTML5 version, making the game mouse-only.
Really liking how everyone's relatively happy/satisfied in the sex scenes, the whole universe is horny so nothing feels forced or non-con.
The buttons in the interface are not obvious. You have to click the middle to unlock missiles, but click the price to upgrade them. You have to click the word "Inactive" to activate the probes, &c.
Overall I can definitely recommend that people have a look at this game. I think we're mostly into the same kinda stuff, smooth animations & happy-sex scenarios. I think like to work with you on a future project sometime.
itch io went down for near a whole day right when I was about to send this reply O_O Anyways...
One thing I would do is minimize the amount of the body that stays still between frames. It's very noticeable, especially at full-screen.
Secondly, if it were me doing the anims, I'd probably have a foreplay/stripping animation -> sex animation -> orgasm animation, and maybe he'd come first with some partners, maybe she'd come first with others.
That's just how I'm planning things out for my own games, though. Feel free to use that to improve your sex scenes if you like.
I noticed another bug, in the stages between bosses 5 and 6, a lot of enemies and projectiles would hide behind the UI, and sometimes the screen would flash red with no warning. It might be that projectiles and attacks hide in the background image really easily, making them hard to notice, but it might actually be the player randomly taking damage
I like that you don't have to play the whole game to get to the NSFW stuff.
The sex scenes are kinda lifeless though, just a single looping GIF and a still image for orgasm(s), and the two people always come at the same time.
Have the map screen show an animated icon pointing to the little space islands as to where to go next. It seemed like all the stages were locked and I had to do something at the little house area first.
A tutorial stage would be real good, telling you when to use the sword & shield icons. Are you actually slashing with a sword while your gun is recharging? The sounds makes me think so. It might be helpful to have a little slash animation go across the screen if so.
The core of the game starts out way too boring at first, the reload/recharge just feel like I'm supposed to sit there and tank hits for a long time while I wait.
Keyboard shift & r don't seem to work on desktop browser.
I like to browse around the free adult game scene every now and then, there are a couple things that make it very difficult to find anything new or interesting in that space:
1. Broken web-based versions of games that they're only updating the download-version of. I'm searching specifically for web based games that I can talk about, because I want to be assured that everybody who has a browser can play them.
2. Web-based demoes for paid games mixed into search results for completely-free games, with no indication of them being a demo in the title or thumbnail, and no way to filter them out via search.
3. Older games showing up at the top of the list when I click "Last 30 days".
I know that "Hole House" and "Anomalous Coffee Machine" are older than 30 days. When you try to play the browser version they straight up say that the browser version is broken or outdated and that you should play the downloaded version or go to patreon or steam to get a paid version. These shouldn't be showing up at the top of a search for recent, play-in-browser, free adult games. They should be relegated to a search for paid games with demoes, and definitely shouldn't show up in a "Last 30 days" search.
My score: 165295
Cute angel character, looks like she's enjoying what's happening. I like how she seems surprised at first that the ball stopped between her breasts, then realizes its her cue to bounce.
I like that there's no slut-shaming, and no purity-culture, just an angel having some sexy fun. That's a nice change from the typical h-game where angels are involved.
I also like that there's no nagging the player to go off-site to buy some "full version", or saying that the web version is deprecated or anything like that. Just an enjoyable little free pinball game that's a nice little distraction as is.
I think I can recommend this!
