Thanks for the feedback! adding that to the list for later investigation

When working on it I had in mind NES classic- SkateBoy

The struggle is real :D

‘i love the emchanic so it stays but cold serve as separate game…’

Ah! Thanks

Sorry I catched them both actually. Blue one gave me some running but I did it.

hm so i got a case where there was a fish that was supposed to I think block his movement (like it blocked mine) and blue crab just went through it.

I like the idea. I was thinking to add sonar pulse for Steel Abyss later levels where players would fight in complete darkness… Ended with vignette. It was easier to implement than custom shader.

I hope you will finish it tho and we would be able to play it someday.

The plot twist I can only summarise with quote “a surprise to be sure but a welcome one”. Whole game was very engaging however, prologue felt like “glued on”.

Thank you for your time to check it out :)

I love the music in the game. The dancing palms stole the show :) Also I was bit surprised with the blue crab. Sneaky bastard was running away!

Dunno if this is intentional but there wws no way to block his path.

To make it more polished I missed few things like octopus doing flipX when changing direction.

Thanks for finding that out! I will add this to fixes list.

From perspective I can say I should have also tweaked the obstacle spawner to be harder :D

OMG. I actually suck at this whole… Marketing side of indie game dev.

But from my side I have:

  • added my game to indie DB
  • dropped a special release to newgrounds (they have their own api that supports cloud saves leader boards and achievements)
  • added game to my LinkedIn profile /projects (becasue why not? I am not only QA /SET. I am also a game dev as a hobby.)
  • went to reddit
  • went to discord (itch and others)

And so far, so bad my games are faring poorly haha. I have very low visibility. Do I care? A bit since I have invested my time in that (8 months for Steel Abyss).

But I never expected to earn even a penny from them, are released for free.

I got similar case of loosing a game but different circumstances. But it has to do with Unity. I have worked on a tank game for half a year. It was supposed to be 3d battle city sort of.

But then my life did a flip and I didn’t have time to work on it anymore.

Few years passed and my life was steady enough to come back to writing games.

And idiot of me I haven’t checked out that unity have phased out their cloud saves and ad integration… So eventually my whole game got corrupted and no amount of time and prying that crap out helped. I had to abandon it. I also abandoned Unity for Phaser.
