Hey man... I'm glad and surprised that you managed to get there without a tutorial or anything... but I'm really sorry... I didn't have time to make the final scene... but I promise I'll finish it just for you... and I hope I don't disappoint you with the result, but I'd like you to enjoy my game as much as I enjoyed programming it... big hug to you.
Hey... it's me again...
I've been playing your game, and I'm really a fan of this work. I just want to help a little with the game's development, so I’ll give you some tips that I think are useful for the game and for the players (which I recommend putting on the homepage):
For the players:
I was testing the game on another PC and noticed that it opened normally... but when trying to open or create a game, it got stuck on a black screen... and didn’t progress at all. However, while looking for possible issues to solve it, I noticed that Visual C++ needed to be installed, and now it runs perfectly for me. This seems simple to me, but for those who don’t know how to program or are just starting to play, it can be tedious if your game doesn’t open. That’s why I recommend including this information on your page as a possible solution to that error.
For the game:
At this point, I must admit that I’m satisfied with the new improvements and the expansion of the game... I really like it a lot. I only recommend adding more building materials... perhaps they could be found in caves. I find them very empty and boring compared to the surface... other than that, everything is perfect 👌
I will continue updating this topic as ideas come to me... if that's not a bother 😅
Hello... :)
Thank you very much for the feedback... it really helps me improve... let's go:
1. The idea of having the Z prompt out of view was intentional... at first, I found it funny that the player has to jump to see what the message says... but after seeing half of it, I thought it was understandable XD... however, several complaints from my friends made me realize it wasn't a good idea... still, I left it as is.
2. The purpose of the initial rock is to let the player know not to rush and to think a little... but it's also well known that if the message isn't clear to the player, then the idea is poorly executed...
3. I apologize for that last point... I was running out of time and still didn't have the game's ending ready for the Jam... I made a map as quickly as I could and focused on polishing the errors as much as possible with the remaining time... by the end, I came up with an unsettling ending idea, and the rest is history 😂 it would have been good to place some signs and give a clearer path... but in the next project I'm working on, it will definitely be better...
Thank you for everything... we would never improve if it weren't for you who play it!
In fact... from the beginning of the development, I was going to use the D and Space keys to move and jump respectively... but soon I realized that players might get even more confused since the D key is used to move to the right... then I remembered the old game emulators that used the Z, X, and C keys for actions... and so I made the last-minute decision, LOL.
