Hey, indie devs! Want your games preserved for all time?
Submit your game and the entire source code, and I (or any other team members) will add it to the Internet Archive for permanent preservation!
- Your game must be predominantly built in a source code that’s easily editable by anyone - i.e. open source. Do NOT include any DRM or code with proprietary licensing; this includes Creative Commons licensing which have the “No Derivatives” clause.
- Any online elements (i.e. server software) that have been developed specifically for the game need to be included, so they can be re-implemented.
- Do not include games with ANY proprietary licensed assets, unless given permission by the developers of such.
- Anti-cheat software is okay, as long as it too is open source.
- Your game can be made paid if you want, but keep in mind that it will also be made available for free on the Internet Archive. We recommend not putting a price tag on your game upon submission unless you specify that it’s for donation purposes (in other words, you also offer a free tier).
Games that do not fit the criteria above will be rejected for submission to the Archive (and possibly the game jam itself).
