Looking into this.  Its been reported by a few linux users but we have yet to track which distros.  In the meantime, you could try Wine or Proton to run window's version

You may be interested in our Trello for an idea of the projects road map.

We ironically have yet to use AI or ML tools in The Bibite's development

If you are able to support the project, buying on Steam is a way to do so.  The two are the same. No catch :)

Some people prefer the installation/update management of Steam as well as the achievements and workshop integration.

Linux version may be improved with 0.6.1 release coming to itch.io in a few days.  Let us know if there are still problems with Linux version then and we will try to address the issues.

If its not on, arrow key control can be turned on in game settings. Moving forward (0.6.1) it will be enabled by default.

It will be update here to 0.6.1 (same as steam) in a few days after early bugs on steam have been squashed and it is considered stable.

You can enable in the game settings

Is it not possible to unzip a file on Linux ?

C'est tu possible passer le niveau 13?

1, 2, 4, 5, 7

Are you on MAC or Linux?

You can lower the pruning threshold to 0, in the lineage panel settings. That would be similar to favoriting all the existing and future species

Eventually species will still disappear if they shrink to small enough numbers, that's just entropy and the log-like logic I implemented for compression!

I would be very curious to see the genetic makeup of this bibite 🤔

I am assuming this is on Mac.  Make sure to EXTRACT the files from the downloaded zip file into the application folder.  Hope this helps.

Yeah, the shader I made for the preview internals has some special requirements that might not be supported by vulkan... trying some workarounds for a hotfix as I also fix some bugs caught since release and make a mac fix

Also can you give me more details on the save panel issue?

P.s. : Sorry Mac Users, Apple is giving me a hard time with my developer account, and I couldn't make the build in time, But I'll upload the mac build as soon as possible!

Mac users need to run from their application folder

It's still there, on the spawning options for a given bibite template you can choose "Randomize Genes"

Thanks!
The graphs and family tree are only in the patreon alpha builds for now, but are coming out very soon!
0.6 public release is gonna blow you all away I think 😎

As mentioned in the download instructions for MAC:
1. Put the whole TheBibites folder you downloaded in your Application folder
2. That's it.

Extract the whole downloaded bibites zip folder into your applications. That should work

hmmm... You can try adding the "-force-vulkan" command line parameter when launching the game.

Is this on a Mac?

Mac USERS:

Apple needs you to run any app from the Application folder. So make sure that's where you extract the .app folder.

So very hard :'(

put it in the app folder

oops! My bad

I'll fix it within the hour

Getting close to releasing 0.5.1 with a lot of fixes and some minor improvements,
But 0.6 is gonna take a few months to come out, probably around 3 to 6, depending on the feature creep!

working on that for 0.6!

Don't tell anyone, but I would encourage you to neglect your real job in order to work on Neuraquarium more actively 🤫

Thanks!

Yes please

Thanks so much <3

There's another button right next to the save game button on the bottom left that allows you to load a save file

The issue on Mac is due to the fact that I can't afford the price of purchasing the official Apple Developper Account, so it won't recognize the program as trustworthy. As a result, the program fails when it tries to access the files it needs on the disk.

You have to manually give permissions to the program. I remember people that figured out how to do it, but I can't remember since I don't have a mac and have never done it myself.

I'll have a look at that, Thanks!

Thanks a lot! We could sure talk about that!

Thanks! I'll be looking into it!
