It's solid! Really nice music. How do I defend from the cannons though? Would be nice if I could shoot down also. And hearts flying around for healing could possibly help the gameplay. Great job.

I actually was almost there! At the end of the second level. I made a screenshot, however, I failed the last jump. Also, I cannot post a screenshot here. :(
Keep trying, keep fighting my dude! :D

Thank you so much!

The difficulty was not scaled properly as there was not much time to playtest, so take it easy. :)

Where did you get to?

Thanks! :D

Great aesthetics!

Great job. Good luck. :)

Not really. Sometimes game jams give prizes for allowing the organisers to move the ownership of the game/idea/code to themselves. This jam pairs people into relationship of the "game design" or "game idea" and the developer. Either it changes anything in the result, is a different story. However, it is usually a good practice to put everything clear before start working on any project. It is just a suggestion to put such a note, that the game developer will have the only ownership upon the product/trademarks he made during the jam, at the same time, taking responsibility of any resulting consequences of the produced software (it doesn't have to be a time bomb, simply some copyright violations might be enough). Maybe it is already stated in itchio policy? Let me know.

Hi,

really amazing game jam idea.

The only thing left for me would be a formality to add to the rules, that whoever made the game is the only owner of the game idea/code/outcome. Developers might want to publish the game somewhere else, maybe put some more work and sell it later. Does it make sense to put such a rule in this game jam? What do you think?

I am working on the update. :)

Quite an interesting one. I am not sure if giving the player the time limit is what you want here. As the time was ticking, I was doing random moves and then I got discouraged. I also did not understand the first tutorial level with the wall. The second level was kinda interesting and it clicked but then again I think I missed something as I could not figure out the 3rd level. Totally, not a game for the time limit. Also, every wall is looking the same so that's why the random moves. I totally should have spent more time on it though.

I got interested as I had no idea what this monster is. Then it turned out to be a game about moving the mouse around, a bit too simple for my taste. Well, the graphics are great at least, well done. :)

Amazing. Truly, a great simple game. Unforgiving though. It is a small finished product, the only thing that could be improved is the audio, quite repetitive. Now I am interested how someone good at it plays it. Well done.

Edit:
I think the combo count should be there all the time, it should be well visible as I need to plan whether I should move back to the island. Also, make the combo reset when touch the ground, so player gets more points for constantly being in the air.
Edit2:
Also, I think you should be able to jump after the slash, as slashes are limited and jump kinda helps to move around. Anyway, just some quick thoughts.

In the tutorial everything was clear and I am really impressed how you implemented the movement. The main part was a bit confusing, I did not know what was going on, some food on the floor next to me, I also did not got to pick up any food. I got interested because of the screenshots though. I thought it's gonna be a completely different game, as the top view looks a bit like some world made of Lego, which is great. Good job overall.

I got hooked a little. Good job on the mechanics, simple but fun. At first I thought I am dying from speed, then I realized pick ups are the fuel to move on. I really like you focused on the gameplay here.

Great beginning, excellent puns and gameplay tricks, however, disappointing main mechanics. Do not get me wrong, all is perfect except it is a bit cliche. Or maybe it's not super original to me, but it is not important. It was a great experience. Maybe if you could continue on that and add more surprising things in the sorcerer's workshop. Just remember to make the things more and more weird, difficult and confusing, so the player really feels like it is a black magic. Would be a 10/10 metroidvenia spin-off if you add more items. Just a thought. Well done.

Amazing idea. Every jam I want to do something like it and I end up with some over complicated project. I also like how you created challenges for the player despite the simplicity. Great job.

I'm really impressed by how you did all the visuals in such a short time. And the mechanics are not perfect but they work well, it's definitely not easy to do such a monster AI. The biggest problem I see is the collision which is very often blocking the player. I was able to workaround it by jumping a lot. :) Also sometimes the flowers are hard to click sometimes.
As for the gameplay, I wasn't really excited about it, it could use some redesign.

Very simple, but polished game. The idea is quite nice, you could make a sweet rogue-like starting from it. The movement could be more dynamic though, otherwise it's quite chilling. Good job. :)

Lag? It's a single player game. :)

Did you mean low FPS? Or broken movement mechanics? Please, let me know!

Thank you for your time. :)

I hope we will not get disqualified, as Windows is pretty popular these days as well. As for the web build, I discovered, literally during the game jam, that UE4 stopped supporting web builds. I think I will stop supporting UE4 then.

Don't download it though, just listen to the awesome soundtrack! :)

I will upload a fixed version of the game, post-jam. :)

Thank you for downloading and leaving the comment!
At least I'm sure you've played, as indeed, that exactly what is happening at the start. The gameplay ends on the first floor, sadly. :(

Môsi community · Created a new topic Fantastic little toy

This is an awesome little toy. I wasn't disappointed when I could just launch the editor on my phone without any effort and try it. I had fun for 10-15 minutes, so congratulations!

I would suggest to make scripting a bit easier, or at least give user ready solutions to repeat current room, kill player, patrol enemies, etc., some common game rules, like reset players position.

I really enjoyed well designed tools, very intuitive to use. Very well made. Keep your motivation, keep making stuff, Sir.

Winner here! It's super simple, but when you play it you are like "OMG, IT'S GENIUS!". Trailer encouraged me to play, doesn't spoil anything, congratz.

Stunning graphics! And it tell a story. I like such approach. You only need a proper fight system and it's a pretty little game. No idea why everything was stuttering on my laptop. I thought it was the camera broken, but then even the credits were clunky. Anyway, I could go through it. Congrats on consistent art work, beautiful!

Thank you sir! Yeah, the sounds would be so good in that one. I love adding sounds but this time I actually finished gameplay first, haha. I'd add sounds if had a few more hours.

I'm really glad you downloaded and played my game! Cheers. :)

good game
