The constant switching between brewing new berries and actually feeding Beary was addictive and constantly kept me on my toes. I love the Chowder-style texture on Beary that stays static even when he moves

I wish I could mix some ingredients while leaving out others

You can; just press cancel (Esc/Tab) during the brew phase

Balatro meets Tetris with tons of ingredient synergies and so much polish. And you made this solo? Truly, there’s nothing more I could ask for

Love the concept and the atmosphere, but it could use more work. When I click on an option in the cauldron UI, it uses up one of my spells even when I didn’t want it to. I also wish it had traditional WASD/mouse controls, as picking up an object (which you do a lot) takes more work than it should

Got pretty lost on where to go and where the third ingredient for the second cauldron is. On the other hand, best walk cycle since Treasure Master

Fun little game with a unique concept. Had to replay a couple times to get the riddles right (still don’t know the third)

I have no idea how to complete the hostage subplot. I tried showing her every package and every gun, and nothing’s changed. And since this is a game jam game that came out literally yesterday, I can’t just look up a guide. That said, I do like the characters and general vibe, and the 2D-cutouts-in-a-3D-world aesthetic isn’t something I see a lot. One of the coworkers just being a normal ass seagull was hysterical

Really like the use of the theme and how the game subtly teaches you, such as by making each enemy drop ammo for the weapon most useful for beating them. In love with the bitcrushed music and voices

IS THAT THE GRIM REAPER???

Really clever use of the theme that I’ll definitely be replaying. Music and announcer remind me of Dynamite Headdy, which is probably what you were going for

Turn fullscreen on, that should fix it

Unfortunately, completely unplayable. The executable doesn’t work without the .pck file, and there’s no web version

Not the Deltarune logo font 😭

Really fun and intuitive game, and satisfying to get the shapes exactly filled in (or at least close enough)

Fun game with a really creative use of the theme. I really like how it incentivizes both planning and thinking on the fly, and the hats were a nice touch. Did encounter a bug where the screen froze for no apparent reason, but my progress was saved so it wasn’t really an issue

Charming little game. Cart was fun to control, but I do wish there was a map

Noticed a few major bugs:

  • There are a few NPCs that don’t do anything when you talk to them (were they cut during development?)
  • The music doesn’t loop, so I spent most of the game in eerie silence
  • The .exe doesn’t work because it’s missing the .pck file

Unfortunately, doesn’t seem to work on Linux with Wine

Gameplay took me a while to get the hang of, but I was able to learn just by playing. Very satisfying controls

Very cool idea and fun gameplay loop. I just wish it was clearer what upgrades each color frog can give

Pretty addictive and surprisingly complex. There’s no worse feeling than losing a run at 6:57

Thank you!

At the end of 3XXX, you mentioned feeling like you need to write a happy ending to get your message out to people, but at least to me, this game is proof that you don’t

Don’t be the Sarah1984 of your friend group

But seriously, I didn’t even know a text adventure could be this anxiety-inducing

This is a linear story, so there’s nothing more you could’ve done

Impressed that you got the secret good ending on the first try. But your comment spoils how to get it so yeah. The game closing is intended behavior

OK, I just updated the game to hopefully alleviate your concern

Duly noted

OK this made me cry

Appreciate you including a walkthrough

How do I run it?

You’re telling me you cooked out THIS in just 4 hours

Z

Love the PS1 low-poly aesthetic, how precise the boat’s movement is, and especially how whatever’s going wrong is up to the player’s imagination.

Very creative use of my name. Kept me on my toes with the need to multitask. The left/right and up/down switches look the same, though, so it was hard to tell them apart. I also can’t slide across walls, though that was probably intentional.

I noticed the game gets slower if you die, and it was useful, but I do think it should’ve just been an option you can toggle.

(also you accidentally exported a debug build)

The first submission ended up being mine, Beaten Waters

It’s out but I don’t want to submit it unless I know for sure

Beaten Waters

There is indeed no text whatsoever in these segments. The game will be out soon, but it likely won’t qualify.

noodlesnook has dropped out, so his slot is open to any new participants (though there’s not much time left).

Hi,

I’m working on another tiny game (for my jam) that should easily be completable in under 30 minutes. It follows a narrative and has text at the beginning and end, but the bulk of the game is focused on exploration via direct character control. Based on this description, would it still be eligible for the IF showcase?
