Totally! I've played that version. I know what level you mean. But that clone it's a little creepy tough, there's hidden images in some folders... And the other Sad Satan ripoff that dude made it's like wth? Straight up n*zi shit... That dev creeps me out...


I know, I've tried that too long ago, but for some reason you can't have 2 exits or more in 1 level. Can't even do the most basic stuff with Terror Engine 😭

I'd upload it as a separate mod / patch. Also I know what you mean, I had that in mind, if I do that, base game, clone and DSRG clone are NOT going to be connected in any way. Is taht what you meant, right?

(They work on Revisited last build, just saying in case you wanna change that in the special version)

Ur welcome! Also I renamed levels from 1 to 9 with a 0 (01, 02, 03...) So they appear in the correct order. The problem is you have to change this on the engine too, so game loads level 02 instead of 2, for example

I didn't even try adding pics yet, but I think you can do it by just creating a .png file with the same name of the level and it should work.

That's a good point, just told you to hear your opinion. Anyway, Here's how to add level selector manually to your build: In the Sad Satan_Data folder, find MainData2, edit it through text editor, and change "1" for "levelselect". It actually works this way! I noticed how to do it yesterday

Hey, I screwed up and uploaded a totally broken build that wouldn't even load level 1. Already fixed. Ive been thinking about making a DELUXE version that includes:

1-Level Selector with image icons

2-Sad Satan Revisited base game + Ending levels from the custom build

3-TRUE Clone levels (obviously clean, replacing G1, G2, G3, G4 &G5 with 1.png, 2.png, 3.png, 4.png & 5.png textimages)

4-DSRG Clone levels

All this content would be included in a single build

Why those clones? Because those 2 clones are "classic", they were made in 2015/2016 and most of the internet knew this game because of these versions, and I think this would be a nice and safe way to bring them back.

Yes! The way you did it was far better than ZKL, and I've not only implemented but, but I re-adjusted the properties. I even remade the "2nd" light at the end as a "spotlight", so it matches with OHC version. Also a new version is currently uploading, fixing some incorrect textures in levels 5/6. ZKL's build had the correct textures, he really had a good eye!

My recomendation: find the lightsource from ZKLoper's build, then screenshot the properties, now open level1 from your build and just add a lightsource and copy the properties from the screenshot. Same for level 2/3.

Update: ZKLoper updated his build, he made the light beam more accurate and fixed the light intensity.

Nah  you're good  but yeah, I agree with that—it's an absolute waste of time given how flawless the current version already is. Anyway, I’m not sure how your levels could have gotten corrupted. I mean, if you play them through "Terror Engine" they might look "corrupt," but if you play them with the Sad Satan standalone .exe, the levels should look correctly. You can always start playing from the level you want if you rename it "1" (both .story and .level files). The standalone.exe always starts from the level named "1".

After studying it all day long, I've decided not to implement the yellow light nor the z-fighting because z fighting would be more difficult to replicate than it seems, for example, level 6 room floor on OHC's video it's so horribly made it is even difficult to comprehend... As for the yellow light in ZKLoper's build, there's actually 2 lights flickering, while on OHC's original version it's just 1 light. Why is this an issue? Because those light intensity are different and they flicker different, so it's basically "fixing" a problem just to bring up another new one.


That said, you can still grab level 1 light from this build and put it on your own one, the original properties por the corridor lights are: Range: 10 Intensity: 2 (so you can bring back original light intensity)

Yeah, I know that, I also saw he modified some lights to make them more intense... Idk why but I mean It's his own version so...


I was thinking about making a more accurate version, bringing back all z fighting, but it would be so much work and a little bit pointless, so idk what will I do... I might just add the light beam on level 1...

Omg, the light beam glitch looks awesome! This is also the same guy that stole an older build, but this time he uplpaded it to his GJ account. I don't mind tho, he gave credits this time, which is great.

I think I should make another separate build that includes all z-fighting and lighting glitches, because I still prefer the non-buggy version.

I also noticed there's a Sad Satan Clean (with TE 2.1) copy available on the internet, but it's for sale on Amazon for 1$ (called Sad Satan [Download]) but Amazon won't let me get it bc it's only available in the US (I think)... Pretty shitty and scummy...

The real pain was revamping the whole game with Terror Engine... But hey, I did it. I think I won't be updating the game for a while!

YEAH, RIGHT? I literally had TE 2.1 not even 2 years ago! But I didn't imagine it could become lost media so fricking fast! Also did you know you can open any level you want through the Sad Satan standalone .exe? Just go through the "Levels" folder and rename a level file,  for example: "12" to "1" (The game WILL ALWAYS load "Level 1" first, so you can change any levels name to trick the game into thinking that's the "Level 1"). I always test the game this way.

I don't have so much time this morning, so I could only test level 12 (I just reverted the timer thing and it works exactly as the older version you mention). I did fix level 2 too, but didn't test it.

Idk man, as I said, I tested it all the ways possible and I can't seem to be able to softlock the level, even if I'm out of the room for literally 5 minutes. There's LITERALLY no other trigger/script that destroys this specific "ending" trigger, so there's no possible way for it to despawn.

To apply the patch just move all the files to your game folder (make sure it's the updated version)

LVL12 Was patched so the trigger now it's above ALL the level floor now, included the hallway. Its literally impossible for the player to skip the trigger and it worked again perfectly with me.

Currently trying to fix lvl2 and I'm really going crazy... Bc that level it's not from my build and idk what caused trouble (again, I literally didn't touch any script, lol) I tested lvl12 in ALL WAYS possible and the trigger works perfectly, tried staying in the room, out of the room, waiting even 5 minutes out of the room...... I never got softlocked... The script it's perflectly made? Are you sure you're waiting 45 seconds? Bc I really don't know how can you get soflocked... 

This really feels like Terror Engine/My PC is trying to ragebait me... God...

Edit: I use Win11 too, so it has nothing to be with that

Hahaha don't worry! I changed some scripts and moved them to a timer to match the original game, where OHC triggers the Rolf pic and after 40 seconds or so, he walks into the "room", stays quiet for a few seconds and then the "Tsu" pics pop up. (Even tho I think the video is edited and OHC didn't make any trigger if he really made the game XD)

Fact: 45 seconds trigger is accurate if you check OHC's video (part 4)

How the timer works: It's simple, the timer just gets activated after triggering the Rolf image, and after 45 seconds, the "end trigger" spawns all over the "room" floor, so, no matter what, when you enter the room after 45 seconds, you'll be teleported to next level. You can check (any) the level in Terror Engine's editor if you wanna know more.

I didn't update it yet, currently fixing it. What I did when I reworked level 12: You must wait 45 seconds (in the room) in orden to activate the end trigger after the Rolf Harris picture pops up (the end trigger is literally all over the "4 ghost girls room" floor) Anyway, I'll upload a video later going though level 12 to show you how I did it.

I just fixed levels 2 and 16, but idk why your game won't load from lvl12 to 13, those are base levels from the revisited version and remain untouched. I even tested level 12 and I got to level 13 without problems... Can you send me a screenshot or...?

I don't get what's happening with lvl2, I just replaced the image names and fixed the wall's height. Anyway, gonna replay it carefully to see what's the issue.

Do you want me to replace the ending audio with the full slowed song then? Or is it good the way it is?

Gotcha, I'll fix it. Would you like if I add a secret "Win" screen with the song "ChuChu Lovely MuniMuni MuraMura PrinPrin Boron Nururu ReroRero"? (Yeah, I'm serious. If you wanna know what the song is about, tryna look it up) I just thought it would fit, since my game/remake's purpose it's to criticize vile people and their "acts", acts that would even make Satan sad (absolute cinema)

I'm working on it, but I ran into a bit of a snag... While modifying Level 2, I noticed an error: all the blocks had a height of 3.5 instead of 4, so I basically (almost) had to rebuild the level from scratch. This fix will be included in your build, but I also had to fix it in my main build. I expect it to be ready in a few days, as long as I don't get too bogged down with other stuff.


Edit: I also modified the walk/run speed in levels 2 and 3 to match the original game.

No problem, bro! :) Unfortunately, I can’t add a level selector for one specific reason: Terror Engine Reborn 2.1 was the version originally used to create Sad Satan. I’ve been hunting for that version, but it’s basically lost media at this point—impossible to find.

If I use version 2.5a to compile the game, the lighting and even the skybox textures change drastically because of the version jump (you can see this for yourself if you try to run Level 1 on Terror Engine Reborn 2.5a). That’s why I can’t implement a level selector or even create a 32-bit build, sadly... If only someone could get their hands on a copy of version 2.1...

Anyway, everything else is doable. So, just to make sure I’ve got this right:

  1. Replace "Level 2" of this version with the "Level 2" from the archive.org version.
  2. Set a 20-second trigger for the ghost girl’s scream.
  3. Add a secret zone (plus some new audio and images).
  4. An ending screen with "Ytse Jam" by Dream Theater playing in the background.

Thanks! I’m glad you think it’s the best remake to date. Regarding the 'JPG overlay' in level 2/3: you should take another look at OHC's video. You see, when the overlay ends, the player is already moving and the audio continues for a fraction of a second. This means the overlay is correctly placed in Level 3, as it allows the player to move while the image is still on screen.

If you watch closely, Level 2 and Level 3 are actually separate levels with different filters. Because of that, I can't remove either one, which means that extra loading screen is unavoidable unless I cut one of the levels entirely, which wouldn't be nice for a well-made remake.

As for the Ghost Girl trigger, I see where you're coming from, but I think it works better this way for now.

As for the yellow light, I tried to replicate it for hours a while ago, but I wasn't able to. Anyway, I didn't care much because it looked like a lighting glitch, haha.

That being said, would you want a 'custom build / personalized copy' for you? I could make a version where the Level 3 overlay trigger is moved to the end of Level 2, set the Ghost Girl scream to a 15-second trigger, or even add an extra zone and a ending. Let me know if you’d be interested in that!
