Should hopefully be fixed now!
And I think I prefer to just add new characters rather that making a female version of an existing character. It would be kind of weird to me if only one character had a gender toggle.

Thank you for the feedback and ideas! I'm glad I got the pacing right.
I actually thought about having NPCs join you on expeditions, but I really didn't want to make 13 sets of directional, animated walking sprites for each weight stage (468 sprites total) lol. It would have to be some kind of thing like "X is with you" but she's just displayed in the HUD or something.
NPCs do react to your size! When you interact with an NPC for the first time after gaining weight, as long as the NPCs themselves don’t have a new weight stage reveal queued, you get a “reaction” dialogue line. Furthermore, if you’ve gained weight, lines reacting to the player’s gain get added to the dialogue pool with the “talk” button (you can press it multiple times).
Ah, it's misleading, but the stage four stuffed player image is not actually in the game currently (the immobility ending sequence always starts immediately). That was an oversight from how I designed the gallery menu.
In the next patch I will either remove that "?" from the gallery, or think of some place where the image can be used (maybe it can be shown during the ending sequence?).
I'm glad you enjoyed the update! My immediate priority is just to fix any bugs this patch might have introduced. But after that, I am interested in a few features suggested by players:
- Some way to defeat enemies on expeditions
- Make progressing NPCs to immobile give specific rewards tied to that specific character
- Larger weight stages sizes
But that said, I am generally pretty happy with the scope of this game, and will probably look to just enhance the experience within the existing loop rather than expand into any more systems.
I also do have an idea for a new game, and changes to my previous game I have been neglecting, and not nearly enough time to do all the developing I wish I could lol.
