I really enjoyed comboing the red and blue orbs and can't stop thinking about how cool it would be to have more orbs and effect combos to choose from, so that was phenomenal!

I got frustrated dealing with the main character's pathfinding, they wound up moving to a wall and getting stuck there despite my continuous clearing of half the screen to prompt movement, it would be nice to set a desired direction or something to help resolve those kinds of issues.

Art and sounds fit really well!

Overall I had a great time playing!

P.S. Sorry if I double commented, my first attempt didn't show up!

this is so incredible! Really engaging progression between levels, and great voice acting! An incredible amount of polish!

Cool idea, but I was also stuck on the second level unfortunately

Thank you so much! Background music is definitely on the list of things I want to add in in v2. Cracking your game open now!

I do regret not taking the time to add music during the jam, but I'll be sure to look into it after the jam! Thank you for playing!!

Absolutely! Already done!

A lot harder than I thought thanks to friendly fire, seen this general idea done a few times so far, but this one feels really intuitive after just a few minutes of playing! Great job!

Really cool, I would have preferred more obvious animations, the pixel art shader looks really nice, but obscures details and makes it hard to differentiate for me. Maybe an option to turn off or increase density?

Overall cool idea with great execution!

I struggled a lot, though that may be because I'm terrible at puzzle games lol. Great variety!

I noticed that emails would stack up, i.e. + covered by ++, covered by Spam, and the order in which you could access them seemed somewhat random.

That aside I found it reminiscent to coming back to work after a weekend and finding that everything is broken and you need to put out a thousand fires lol. Thanks!

Really neat idea! Using the backwards facing friend felt a little awkward sometimes, but it was really cool using him to handle zombies coming around a corner while using a shotgun on a larger wave coming from behind!

Main note for me would be more audio feedback for guns/getting hit. The first time I played I didn't notice I had lost one of the two characters or even where the health was

Thank you so much for the review! Definitely wish I had spent more time working on the UI and controls, but overall it turned out way better than I had expected. Currently planning on making a slightly larger version of the game with a few levels and a bit more polish, before moving on to the next thing.

I will absolutely be adding more colours!

Thanks, and cracking yours open now, I really like the title!

I definitely wish I put a bit more effort into communicating the basic controls. There were two mini-mechanics I added that I intentionally did not describe, but hoped would come up naturally and be a little "aha" moment. No idea if that panned out as hoped, but I'm glad you enjoyed!

(1 edit)

I've been trying to do more game jams for a while, but kept putting it off until I had no more time. For this jam I decided that I was just going to pick one gimmick and make something absolutely miniscule to try it out, I'm glad you had fun!! Thanks for playing :D

Thank you!! I'll be working on something using this as a starting point, don't have a ton of time so not sure how long it will take though

I'm glad you enjoyed!!

Thank you so much for playing!

Thanks for the tip!

Really enjoyable gameplay, incredible art. I loved the twist, I was expecting a lot more horror and less bullet hell lol

Such a cool concept and fantastic execution!

Really great! The art audio and mechanics altogether make it feel so cozy!

I didn't get super far in, but I really really enjoyed what I did get to play and would absolutely play this for ages. Particularly loved the animations, sfx, and having a multi-hit weapon when dealing with waves!

I really enjoyed the detective theme and music. Haven't won yet because I'm far too impatient and keep wasting my shot :).

I definitely felt the horror vibes lol, really enjoyed the art style. My mind was absolutely blown that you had an actual useful menu and settings on top of everything else!

I found the mouse sensitivity a bit too high and got turned around really easily because of it, but I really enjoyed chasing Fred around screaming "FREEEED" surrounded by all of the ghosts :D

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it :D. I've definitely got a lot I want to improve, but I am absolutely going to try and expand upon this!

Thanks so much for playing! I really struggle with art so finding game-icons.net was a godsend this jam! I plan on taking some of this into a *slightly* larger, but more complete game during my off hours for the next while, will definitely be addressing all of the feedback I've received about the controls

Thank you so much for the feedback and for playing!! I will keep that in mind!

Great work! I had a lot of fun playing during some work downtime. High score was 52!

Thanks! I really like all the effects you used in Flower Life too!

I'm glad you enjoyed! I think I know what section you are referring to, whenever I get free time again I'll check that out. Thanks for the feedback!

Yup! Excluding the squirrel in the title screen (a huge solid orange squirrel just looked horrible) I used only colours from the provided palette.
Really sorry about the scaling issues, I ran into similar issues with chrome on windows but I haven't yet found out how to fix them unfortunately.
Thank you for the feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed!

I didn't notice the control scrambling initally lol, had me very confused for a moment. The screenshake after getting to the A's is great lol. Really good job!

I really enjoyed the look and feel of the game, only big problem for me was getting the timing right for hitting beats. When I hit a long string of them it felt fantastic, but it was difficult to do it consistently due to the lack of indicators.

Is this game posted already? I am unable to see any download links or game window

Thank you so much for the play and comment! I'm looking forward to updating it to address this and all the other issues that have been brought up to me when I have time. I'm glad you enjoyed!!

I really enjoyed this game although I accidentally started before reading the instructions and didn't realize you could change the level colours until I read in the comments here lol.

Great job, the levels are great!

I absolutely loved just about everything about this game, the colours you picked really seem to suit the game! It would be nice to have the option to just complete the sentence and not skip dialogue completely, but that is my only complaint. Great job!!!

the art style is really charming and I absolutely loved the animations!
