Use of the limitation
I limit # colours onscreen to 5 using a shader. I interpolate between palettes allowing me to incorporate more than 5 colours in the game total, but because it is all interpolated at once, there is never more than 5 hex codes onscreen at a time

I was smashing Q/E, but I don't understand how layers work! Regardless, feels full of gameplay and text! Good work!

Nice game! Really like the lens mechanic. And the music give me a good retro vibe.

One thing that will be great to improve is the presentation of the dialog text. Maybe a little small and with a sound feedback to make the reading more confortable.

Congrats for the finishing the game and the Jam!

Nice! The only thing i would add is a way to visualize the adjacent layers and what button goes to what layer.

Thanks for playing!
I totally agree about the visualization, that is near the top of my list of improvements to make once I get through this swath of project deadlines.

I dig the retro feel and the idea of swapping lenses/revealing boxes to get around the areas is a fun mechanic. I wasn't immediately draw the connection in the Generator room that the lenses referenced in the text were a thing I'd need to get through the boxes, so I thought I'd hit a bug until I went back and explored the hall some more. It might have been called out in previous on-screen text and I missed it, but it might be worth streamlining the text a bit to emphasize important instructions in case others are like me and sort of blaze on past. Congrats on the game, it feels like something you could really expand upon if you wanted to!

I'm glad you liked the look! It was a lot of fun putting together all the art and shaders to get there :).
I really wish I had taken more time to put in a better dialogue system before the end of the jam, it's probably the thing I am least satisfied with overall.
Thanks so much for playing and for the feedback!

This game was really interesting and cool to play but I found it a little frustrating at times when I would reach the end of a level and not know where to switch in order to make a jump, and would inevitably fall to the bottom of the level. That aside, this game was polished and felt finished. You did well with the combo of telling the player stuff and having them work it out for themself, so it always felt like I as the player had worked out how to do something without needing complex problem solving skills to do so. It was a clever idea and amazingly executed in the time limit.

Thank you so much for the play and comment! I'm looking forward to updating it to address this and all the other issues that have been brought up to me when I have time. I'm glad you enjoyed!!
