Really amazing art! The game gets brutal pretty quick, so I didn't get very far

With the onscreen tutorials, it was pretty clear what needed to be done. The mechanics were fun, since breaking things is always fun. If you're going to build on it tho, I'd add things that move or slightly harder targets. Like shooting birds or something that are moving, since it's just a high score type of game in general.
I remember this one from IGJ. Checkpoints are pretty close, so it never feels too difficult. My feedback on level design might be to introduce the elements a bit slower (maybe the player doesn't die to the spikes immediately, and he can see how the gravity pulls the player in the first section, then spikes come in, then the bouncy sections come in). Since it's a pretty small game overall, this isn't a big deal, but worth noting if you're making more levels in this way
The difficulty would be just right if the controls were a bit tuned. For instance, the jumps would feel much better if the player didn't lose horizontal speed on the jumps. Additionally, it feels like you lose horizontal speed when you shoot, and that shouldn't happen either (unless you have a good game design reason for doing that)
