The difficulty would be just right if the controls were a bit tuned. For instance, the jumps would feel much better if the player didn't lose horizontal speed on the jumps. Additionally, it feels like you lose horizontal speed when you shoot, and that shouldn't happen either (unless you have a good game design reason for doing that)

I don't understand why people say they lose momentum when shooting while jumping cause that never happen in my playtests.
