Fixed that one thanks.

Glad you got there!

I never considered the slot being single use. I kinda figured the menu giving new options and listing all its faults that needed fixing would be the giveaway.

Was already considering an expanded v2 with more location to visit.

The timer isn't used. The Damascus steel is a component required to fix the temporal relocator. Take it back and insert it into the slot.

Thank you for this. I agree they are a bit harsh and that reference is going to get some use.

Thanks Garry - Found a pesky unnecessary 'redescribe' in the endgame subroutine that needed removing. All sorted now!

I'm just playing through it now to see if i can trap the issue. There are only 2 scenarios so let me finish this and then I'll let you know if i need the transcript - thanks.

Oh that's interesting,, he's definitely not at the hackspace exit? There are only two possible options  coded, he's returned to the storage room, talks to you and then either leaves the game forcing a win game subroutine or he's at the main entrance  waiting to leave, when he can, triggers the win game routine.

How very curious. I'll check the code today and see if there's a condition I've missed and fix it asap.

I don't use discord, have I missed anything important?

Is he still in the hackspace?

If he is, have you spoken to Andy since rescuing him?

He maybe can't leave and go home.

Noted and apologies. The update was so minor that you didn't need to redownload. It made no difference to solving the game.

Thanks for the feedback, now wondering if I need to add a better hint / examine item dialogue in there somewhere.

Good fun adventure, enjoyed mapping it whilst working through it.

The only thing I'd improve on is when moving to a new location, the screen doesn't refresh but the text just scrolls upwards - not a biggie but I found it harder to concentrate on the new location text.

Got it thank you Garry - Finished it!

Really enjoyed this one. Mapped it too!

Only one niggle that I found but not major - If you dont examine the girl and then give  her the bow, come back later and she's not in the location, the hint tells you to examine her, obviously you cant. Other than that, a nice adventure that got me thinking!

ok done that and got the second crystal and am getting followed by a monkey when in that zone. I have no idea if he is puzzle relevant at all - I doubt it!
I am now completely stumped as to where to go next, I'm now wandering aimlessly to see if ive missed anything!

That's probably the hardest puzzle, once you've repaired the circuit board, you can start to time travel!

If you cant figure it out, I'm happy to list all the items you need to be carrying and which room to do it in.

I'm really enjoying this submission but I am really stuck. I've returned the blue crystal!

I have been onboard the ship, got the lamp, got the matches from the hobo and have lit the lamp. I'm now in London and cant go upstairs to the dark living quarters. I've spoken to the baker about everything i can think of but cant make any progress in London. The fire comes and i return to the tower. I'd really like an nudge in the right direction please! I'm sure I've not asked the baker something but I cant figure it out!

Have you examined the iron? Does it need 'FILL' ing from the Butane?

Examine the circuit board in the electronics workshop - there's a magnifying lamp there.

Examine everything, you sometimes get additional commands to try...

I've done as much SPAG checking as I can but I'm not perfect! If you spot any glaringly obvious typos, feel free to add them under this topic and I will get them fixed and upload a new version.

Thanks!

Thank you - I take no credit for the cover art as it was one of the Hackspace members, he wanted to remain anonymous and just include a generic Hackspace credit. Had he been more willing I'd have asked for location graphics of the same style - That would have been an incredible amount of work though.  Maybe its something I keep in reserve for a future deluxe version of the game

That's my submission completed and entered!

Good luck everyone!

Thanks.  Hopefully I've followed the rules!

My competition entry is now completed, Feels like a long time until I can submit it!

If I interpret the rules correctly I can submit it but cant make it public until 24 hours before. Im now getting mild paranoia that I'll forget to make it public and miss the deadline!

If you are testing withing Adventuron, you can simply type 'goto bazaar' and it will port you there. Also commands like 'summon key' will bring you the object you need to test your puzzle.

I'm 5k lines into my adventuron entry... It's gets out of hand quickly!

I'll second Errol's statement. A massive thanks to Chris and to the sponsors.

Hi - Thanks for the feedback, it's always good as there are just so many interactions and it is hard to think of them all!

The X OVEN is in the game, I tested it this morning successfully.
X HOLE - Added today.
X LABEL - Added today.
USE CATAPULT - Added today.
KNOCK SHELF - Added today.
The milk quest - under review for a future version.

As for Sneezing, it is a random chance interaction that happens if you spend time in the location. SNEEZE isn't a command you can type in.

Hi, I've made a few minor modifications to deal with getting cold water. The process hasn't changed, just added some additional interactions in the places you think you might be able to get cold water.

Hi Dee, I decided to fix them anyway! They needed doing and were all very minor to sort.  Thanks.

I decided to spend a few minutes and correct the majority of the niggles that have been reported to me. Hopefully it plays a little better now!

Version 0.8.5 is available now.

Thank you for your kind feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'll add your issues to my list, they are likely all really quick ones to fix. I'm not sure if I can fix and update in the judging phase but definitely will.

Not my bag I'm afraid.  I do have several ideas tucked away for future projects. I've got a rough design for one of which is set in quite a few British towns and cities with travel between them and several locations per town/city. Its going to be fairly massive and I'm dreading starting it. Its going to be an evade capture style where you can only spend so long in certain places before the hunters track you down. Think of the TV show 'Hunted' and you'll not be far off the mark.

My biggest problem is that I need a motivation to work on them. Life is a busy place for me and a game jam helps motivate me. I'm going to stick to entering now and again with mini adventures.

Thanks Erroll, I think your entry looks stunning and your use of graphic overlays is amazing. Its got me wishing that I'd used them in mine. I'm definitely going to incorporate them into my next adventure.

Thank you, glad you like the retro style.

I'm looking forward to giving your submission a go over the Christmas period.

Thanks Christopher for your constructive feedback.

I've made a few minor changes based on your feedback and quickly resolved some of the minor interactions. I apologise if the odd diversion from the main quest by the use of red herrings affected your experience. There are a number of them in the game and the intention was to add some 'tongue in cheek' humour into the game. Originally I was going to implement a scoring system where 60% of it was generated by the quest and the remaining 40% would be based on these comedy interactions, but I personally find scoring systems a bit annoying. On this basis I decided to leave it out.

Thank you to you and your daughter. I'm really pleased that you both enjoyed it.

Thanks Rich.  I found the play-through very enlightening. It is really good to see how other brains work and spot the useful missing interactions.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what you mean. all the images we done in Windows Paint. I don't think it is capable is it?

Noted for the next (inevitable) build!

I love the concept and never even considered this style of game using Adventuron. The graphics are superb!

I am really struggling to understand the bus map. I suspect it is really easy and I'm being a bit thick!

I love this style of graphics, I wish I could be half as good. I'm looking forward to playing this one!

Some minor changes made this afternoon.

  1. About 50 spelling mistakes sorted
  2. I've resolved the key thing, had too much going on. Its now simplified.
  3. Reindeer issue also resolved
  4. Fishing hole logic updated
  5. Addressed concerns raised about number of objects that appear after use of Examine command. More obvious ones made visible.

New version now available.
