There are clues to help you figure out where the trip begins! It's true that it might be a little overwhelming at first, because you're still getting used to the game and its mechanics, but it's designed so you can solve it in two tries at most (although it can be solved easily on the first try if you pay attention!). The second attempt might allow you to better appreciate some details.
We had a lot of ideas we would have loved to include! But in the end, we had to prioritize and focused on what we thought was the most interesting part of the experience.
Thank you so much for playing it and for your feedback <3
Thank you so much for the kind words! In that gap you mentioned, there's a whole story being told through the sounds about what's happening. It might go unnoticed if you're not using headphones or the volume is low, but we aimed to create that tension for the final moment by making you feel vulnerable in a certain way. In any case, thank you so much for playing it and for the feedback! :)
Did you see the spinning button on the laser trap? Sometimes the shader makes it a bit difficult to differentiate some elements.
And sorry for the performance issues, it was something I wanted to try to improve but ran out of time. I'm already working on it for future versions once the jam is over!
Thanks for the kind words and feedback! Really appreciated.
Sorry about that! The tutorial stopped working in the last 5 minutes and it makes everything much more confusing! The goal was to get down the pyramid with the lowest score without reaching zero (everything goes down, score, bullets, combos...), but you can see I ran out of time to make everything clear enough.
Anyway, thanks for giving it a try!
Oh, sorry to hear that! Can I ask what resolution your screen is? I know it could look smaller on some screens, and the solution was to use the zoom (Ctrl + mouse wheel). I don't know if yours was a different error. This is my first time working with Godot and with fixed resolutions, and I'm still learning how to do it correctly.
Yeah, you're right, I already know it beforehand! My idea before the jam started was to make a completely different kind of game, but in the end, this came about organically along the way, and it made me reflect about how we relate to creative things within capitalism. It may not be that powerful, but it's honest, and it's a direct consequence of the system in which we live. It's probably more for me, to remind myself of important things, than for the rest of the world, but I think that's okay too. Thank you so much for playing it and taking the time to explain your point of view, really :)
First of all, thank you so for the kind words! I know it's not the classic anti-capitalist game you might find in this jam, it comes from a much more personal, small scale perspective, but I think it's also important to recognize the forces at work when life defeats us. The meat grinder that is capitalism sometimes leaves us feeling helpless, powerless, resigned, guilty... and in that state, it's difficult to fight to change anything or put things in perspective. This stupid little thing is precisely about that moment, about trying to regain strength from the mud remembering who is you enemy. I understand your point, and I understand that it might be too personal? but I don't think it's so out of place in the conversation about capitalism. In any case, this is just my opinion! Thanks so much for giving it a try and play it! :)
I really liked the vibes of this game! I love the character movement, the scenery, the lighting... but the shader sometimes makes it too difficult to see, some little adjustmentson that side would be great. I LOVE the teeth scene, the camera movement, the animations, the red words and the colors... I think it captures that discomfort in the grotesque very very well.
The enemy pushed me and I got stuck in a hole. It would be nice to have some way out of a situation like that! But seriously, very good work! :)
