There isn't. There are quite a few kinks in the game, but not that.

Warning: If you see a comment saying something like "Latest update here" or "Adult games here" with a link, do not follow that link! Such comments are posted by a bot which tries to get you to download a virus, trojan, or worm to your computer. Do not get fooled by these links! I remove such comments as soon as I see them, but they may be up for several hours before I notice them!
I sent a mail to support, and I got a response a few days later. The response was that my games were indexed again (which they are), and there was a link which I had not checked before (because it is called "Search & Browse" and not "Indexing"): https://itch.io/docs/creators/getting-indexed. After checking out that page, one line struck me:
"Established sellers with no history of issues will skip this review step and will be indexed immediately."
So, evidently I had no "history of issues" a month ago, but now I do (unless itch has wiped it again, but I am not going to check that as I do not want to run the risk of getting deindexed again). The only "issue" I can imagine is that I reported 6 spam posts in one weekend. But those were really spam posts, so unless "issues" means "this creator is a target of spam posts," I do not see a reason why I should be automatically deindexed.
Anyway, I hope this circus has ended now. If it hasn't, I will notice with my next update and I will send out another ticket.
Interestingly, the spam bot which left all these posts has not been a problem for me anymore, while I did see those posts appear on other pages. So perhaps itch has found a way to stop them?
Well, evidently spambots are not the reason. The reason seems to be that I made a change to the game's page on itch.io.
My two games were both delisted after I made a change to their pages. For one of these games the only change was that I made a word bold. But after two days, they got listed again.
I just made another update to one of these games. This time, I made a bugfix-release, so a slightly more involved change. Immediately that game got delisted, while the other one remained listed. Also, the developer log which I made to announce the bugfix was made invisible.
It is strange. Before last month I could make changes and release new versions and make devlogs without any problems. Now it seems my games have a target on them. If they get listed again after a day or two it doesn't matter much, but I don't understand why I suddenly have to deal with this. If there is something I could do about it, I would, but without communication from itch.io I am veiled in darkness.
Since yesterday suddenly the two games I have on itch are delisted. Since they are adult games they were delisted two months ago, but since they are completely free they were reactivated a few days later. Now both of them are delisted again.
I am wondering what the reason is. In one of the FAQs it says that a game may be delisted temporarily if "something" happens with the game's page, and I have editted the page of one of my games (though in a rather minor way, I only checked what the effect would be if I would switch from Comments to Community and back). However, the other one I did not touch, and both are now delisted. Which makes me conclude that it is something about my account.
The only thing I can imagine is that I have been banning too much. One of my pages has been the target of a spambot which is getting increasingly active. In the last two days I have been banning (and reporting) the users that that bot creates half a dozen times, often within minutes after their spam message appeared in the comments of the affected game. Is using the ban-hammer "too often" a reason to delist my work?
I'd really like to know. It would be a good thing if itch would inform me if it delists my games, because then I know what is expected of me. Perhaps I should just let the spambots do their evil work?
Thanks, I appreciate it. I like to hear what people like and dislike about my games. The futa content is at the core of the story of Sinderella, but I did reduce the futa content in my second AVN, which can be played without any futa content at all. Lots more NSFW content in that one, too. No animations, though, as I personally prefer still images.
BTW, originally I had two NSFW scenes before the transformation, but I deliberately removed them as I felt they ruined the atmosphere of the game's opening.
I am also having problems with this. For a while I got one such spam post per week, now it has increased to multiple per day. It should be easy for itch.io to filter such posts out, because the same post is made on the comments page of many games. If someone makes hundreds of posts in a very short time, all posts the same, they should be banned automatically, I'd say.
Please, itch, do something about this. If it continues like this I will have to close my comments section and I do not want to do that.
Interestingly, I considered Alice in Wonderland when I was thinking of the theme of this game. For quite a while that was what it was going to be. My issue was that I really like the creative rhymes, jokes, mathematics, and philosophies of Lewis Carroll, and I wouldn't be able to do justice to them. So I went for Snow White instead, but took the shrink/enlarge potions from my thoughts on an Alice game.
BTW, you can use the shrink potion in six places, and the enlarge potion also in six places. So they are used quite a bit. However, in most places the potions are immediately used up, so they are often "single-use". But if you do a replay on New Game+ mode, you can check an option in the Preferences which lets you keep a potion even if the game says it is used up. So you can play around more with them.
That's a good remark, and I am actually happy about users posting links to their collections in comments, as I know that during the delisting of my games (they are listed again now) people found them through collections.
However, I am talking about a bot which every week creates a new account and then posts a message as I specify above as a comment for a whole bunch of games. I have seen that three times for this game, in three weeks, but someone told me that this has been going on for a year. There is a quick check that one can do: click on the user name and you will see all their posts. Then you will notice that they have posted the same message with the same link at dozens of games.
Itch should be able to automatically filter these out, I'd say. A user posting the same comment for a large number of games should not be allowed. A user posting hundreds of messages within minutes should not be allowed. A user posting links to suspicious sites should not be allowed. But evidently Itch is not doing anything about it, other than banning the user when they are informed about it. But that can take a few hours.
So I am mainly saying: be careful about links to software. Don't run such software without being pretty certain that it is what you expect it to be.
Thank you. The new version (1.0.3) should solve this problem. If you still have a save from right before the error occurs (basically, the image that you show, where a heroine says "Good luck"), and play from there, the error should no longer occur. But in any case the bug should not affect anything beyond the mission of Puss, and even that mission you should be able to play correctly (albeit not alone).
If you want you can delete the posts on the error, as I have copied them. Or I may delete them later.
Warning: If you see a comment saying "Lastest version here," "Hentai games here," "Thousands of games here," or something similar, with a link, then ignore that post!
Someone is trying to spread virusses via itch.io in this way. I remove these posts, and report and ban this user whenever I see them, but you will find such comments with many games. Don't fall for this scam.
The latest version of my games is available with the downloads that I post on itch.io.
Thanks for informing me.
It looks like I have traced something of this. I did not get an error, but I did find a rather rare situation: if you do the rescue mission and one of the heroines does not escape, and after that you do a mission of another heroine together with that heroine, and after that you do the mission of the heroine that did not escape, she will still be at the mission. I made a fix for that, which I will release today (1.0.3).
That said, as I did not get an error, it might still be helpful if you send me some more detailed information if you have it, in particular: where exactly did the error appear (e.g., the last screen before you saw the error), or, if you have it, a screenshot of the error.
I write these portmortems partially for myself. It's "lessons learned" and that means that I shouldn't forget those lessons. But if you find it informative, all the better.
As for the amount of work: It was indeed a lot when I began to work this way, but after a while I got into a routine which made it all pretty smooth. But, as I said, it is somewhat error-prone, which makes testing time-intensive and leaves a nagging feeling that probably there are still situations in the game where something is displayed wrong.
Still, the main reason to bring back dolls-on-backgrounds for parts of a game is that there are situations where they simply work better.
Actually, I managed to finish the game about six months earlier than I expected. You can find it here: The Perils of Bianca.
The game is released now. Due to the deindexing of adult content on itch.io you cannot search for it, but here is the link: The Perils of Bianca.
There are seven different endings: Revenge, Submission, Dominance, True Love, Manipulation, Blackmail, and Fairy Tale. Each ending has its own achievement (in the Extras menu). You can end the game in Act VII, VIII, or IX. Depending on how you end the game, you usually get a choice between several of the endings (but there will always be several endings blocked off by your decisions during the game). The only really "bad" ending is the Submission one, but it is hard to bring the game to a state where it is impossible to avoid it.
There is not just one way to reach each ending, though they all have some requirements. Depending on how you go through the game, some of these requirements will be met while others will not. The major decisions are how you deal with the prince in Act V, how you handle the conversation with the princess in Act VII (especially this one has a high variety of outcomes), and whether or not you flee the palace in Act VIII. But many of the smaller choices that you make also determine how the story will play out.
I don't know if a walkthrough has been posted. I wrote one for myself, but never posted it, mostly because I think the fun is in building your own story, and/or discovering all the things you can do in the game yourself (there is replayability as you cannot discover all the major content of the game with a single playthrough). But if you have questions I am happy to answer them.
