Came here from the devlog, love the game! The gameplay is unique and does a great job of keeping you engaged without demotivating you. I also really love the visuals and audio! It does seem to lag quite a bit in the browser though. Is there a fix you know of, or is there a chance you could make a downloadable build? Thanks!

Thank you very much for the helpful and organized feedback! I'll be releasing a post-jam update by the end of the week fixing bugs and addressing criticisms/suggestions from everyone. I'm glad you enjoy the mechanics!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked that.

Very well done Banjiro Team! This is a beautiful beat-em-up. The art, music and gameplay is wonderful! The environment feels very alive and lived-in and I love the enemy spawning effects as well as how they move around. The boss fight was challenging but I loved it; the progression of the fight was hype! I think you could use some in-game control explanations as well as interpolation on the character sprite, but that's about all I can come up with. I look forward to seeing your future work!

I love this puzzle game! The audio and visuals contribute very well to a comfortable atmosphere. Very well done!

Good job on this game! I won't dwell much on my recommendations since I don't have anything new for you. I do feel more player feedback would have done this game very well, as well as a volume slider somewhere. I like this idea and hope you continue working on it!

Well done Brad! The artstyle and atmosphere of this game were great, and you really nailed the gameplay conventions of the "good clicker games". The controls were intuitive and the UI did a great job of being stylized while explaining everything the player needed to know. Great game!

I see I wasn't the only one that had an idea for an RTS! I concede this duel to you, though, as the mechanics you were able to fit in were impressive and felt much more akin to a "real" RTS than my attempt did. Well done! I also very much liked the simple but effective way you told the story and got the player involved. Any suggestions I would have made were discussed by Brad already, so I won't get into it. They mainly had to do with the visuals and lack of audio. As with all the other games in this jam, I would love to see any future updates to the game!

Wow! As I played through this game, I kept saying to myself "ANOTHER level?" because I couldn't believe how much you packed into this! The world feels vibrant with life and the gameplay was wonderful! For my tastes, I would have appreciated a faster health regeneration considering the hard levels nearing the end, and many times I shot away my last point of health, which I can understand but personally disagreed with. If you have more ideas for the game, I would love to see you bring them to life in an update!

I really liked the artsyle of this game, and it felt like a complete arcade game! Well done! The gameplay was a bit too fast for my tastes, but that's rather subjective. I do feel a second hazard type in addition to the flying trees would have benefitted the fun factor of the game, for example a "heat ray" that takes up the top or bottom of the screen for a few seconds and confines your movement. You should be proud, and I would love to see an update for this!

I liked this game! It's a nice arcade type experience, and the art style was consistent! I did have a few issues with nuances in the gameplay which were entirely covered very well by Brad, so I won't go in to detail. The things I noticed were mainly the fruit spawning and the powerup mechanics. I did also sometimes found myself accidentally possessing the wrong fruit, and while that was annoying I'm not sure exactly how you could go about tweaking that. Overall, you should definitely be proud, and I would recommend making some updates to the game!

I really like the music and the designs in this game! In addition to the aiming bug you mentioned on the game page, I also noticed that the player can push the bounds of the screen, causing it to bounce around. Also, I noticed that the sound effects don't layer and instead restart on play, and this can be changed by changing the function you call for the audio source. I liked the game concept and I definitely feel it has potential!

Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! I will use it and do my best to iterate on the game to make an enjoyable simple RTS that requires a bit more strategy to beat. I definitely ran out of time with this game since I planned it out with an expectation of about 35 hours to work on it and ended up spending only 23 hours around the New Year holidays (and 3 dnd sessions) this week.

Thank you very much for the feedback! As I have done for both my previous ISU jam submissions, I plan on releasing a post-jam update addressing any criticisms/suggestions as well as fixing bugs. I definitely will be adding more audio and making custom UI designs!

Simple arcade gameplay loop, it would be fun if there was an explosion when a duck gets shot! Sound effects would also help improve the feel of the game. I found the inputs to be somewhat unreliable, sometimes I would stop moving even though I was still holding down the arrow key. My last recommendation is to limit the time instead of bullets, it would be a lot more fun to try and get a high score since hitting the ducks accurately isn't very difficult. I hope you continue to make games! :)

Wonderful. My one recommendation is to use the AudioSourcePlayOneShot() method for the Vine Boom sound effect, it would have been more fun I think if it didn't restart and instead layered every time you fire

Wonderful, I summoned so many ducks that they pushed me off the dock and I could no longer feed them and summon more

duckie

me too! thanks for playing :)

exactly

that's a lot of petting. he must be very happy now :)

lmao

Thank you for the feedback! Those are some wonderful ideas!

Interesting game! The artstyle was simplistic, and the concept would make a wonderful arcade style mobile game.
I think something like a slight screen shake that gives more impact to each launch would make the gameplay feel more engaging, other than that I feel that of course audio would make things feel more complete.
Great work!

Wonderful game! Very fun to play and improve at. The artstyle and setting is great and I love the music and sound effects! The gameplay is unique, well thought out, and addicting. I took a bit to understand how to defeat the enemies, but the first level is great to help figure it out, even though most people will probably die like 5 times as I did.

The one thing that was frustrating in the later levels was that I found myself losing track of where my mouse was, so often when I was moving around a bunch I would end up attacking on the wrong side of me. What's intuitive to me is simply attacking the direction I am inputting, but I understand why this control scheme probably works better for most people.

Liked the game! It felt good to move smoothly through the levels without slowing down, improving and getting faster was very rewarding. I had an easy time learning the controls without being told them just from the design of the first level! Great work!

Aside from that, I found the geometry of some of the levels made movement slightly frustrating, and if the double jump cooldown (detection for when you touch the floor again) was more forgiving, I think some of those more complex levels would feel much better to play.

Loved the music! It reminded me of Eurobeat/Initial D, definitely made me want to go fast. Otherwise, I loved going fast but it made the obstacles too hard to react to and so I went pretty slow to advance in the game.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Thank you very much for the feedback!

Thank you for the notes! I haven't seen that glitch myself, I'll have to hunt for it!

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I take notes about all my games after I make them and I noticed a lot of the same things. I hesitated to add sound effects because I couldn't get them to match the game too well, but I definitely regret that.

Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the sandbox mode.

Couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes the first time I died! The visual and audio design creates a goofy and fun experience that reminds me of a game called Supra Mayro Bross from ~5 years ago.

Incredibly fun and engaging! The right amount of difficulty to keep you focused and entralled. Excellent game, I loved the simplistic art design and of course the wonderful music :)

Thank you very much for the feedback!!! Thank you for playing :)

Can't play cuz no numpad Sadge
